The point about us having lost less games than Arsenal, Chelsea & City (in all competitions, which is crucial for his point) would be more than valid if we too were playing in the CL like them. Moreover though, the issue is far more about the number of games we've won. Obviously that's not something he would want to focus on. And that's entirely why his comments are a bit daft. Not far away from Houllier clinging to the idea that we'd 'turned a corner'.

Agree with you entirely Rory. I think the reason for current 'delays' isnt that they're wanting to give BR more time. I think it's the time that it's taking to try and discuss and find agreement with the preferred new guy.

If there's one positive to come out of this mess (and there really is only one), it's this... Despite what we've gone through in terms of slipping out of the CL in the last 5 years & the fact that we don't have billion spunking owners, we are still an attractive enough option for a high calibre manager to be virtually bending over and begging us to take him.

For someone we seemingly know so little about, this Edwards bloke seems to hold some genuine power. Or at least, some powerful, persuasive influence. Carra, Didi, Garcia, Fowler and others are pretty prolific when it comes to tweeting their views about LFC. Yet not one of them has said a word on this, as far as I've seen. Anything from Barratt or the Echo lot? Not sure I've seen anything.

I dunno about Monday (wouldn't surprise me though), but he'll do well to survive the next 7-10 days IMO. In the context of a football match or cup final, where Carlo is the victory or the trophy, it's ours to lose now.
