    Kuyt Injured

Didn't Kuyt play against Man U, contrary to what is claimed in this article?

  9. Of course he is partly to blame. I think his biggest mistake today was not taking off Carra at HT. We would have been 1 man down had not Clattenberg taken mercy on Carra. Most of the other "mistakes" were due to lack of alternative or a gamble i.e. Gonzalez or Pennant. Still the team, including Rafa as boss, did not react well once again when they went behind.
  10. 1. Reina 2. Finnan 3. Pennant
  11. Does Villa have a pool and views?
  12. If it is a case of a woman being too slow to keep up with the game then that should be tackled on an individual basis rather than ban all women from officiating. The way the game is developing it is very hard for any ref male or female to keep up. As for linesmen it is less of a problem. That has more to do with positioning and anticipation of play. Newell is bang out of order. We have had hopeless male refs for decades so to have a go at women after a few games in charge is silly.
  13. LFC have moved on but I still think we'd be a better team with Owen in there. OK it is still early to judge Bellamy but I'd have Owen over Bellamy in our team any day.
  14. Whatever. Seeing that you chose to run a search of all topics I've posted and made a list of such articles made me think otherwise.
  15. OK Carralegend and Maldini. I will no longer post any press reports involving Liverpool players, manager etc. It is not as if I am on here announcing exclusives and saying that it is the truth.
  16. That's what we wanted to hear. Interesting to know whether Rafa's agent really did say that or whether it was creative journalism.
  17. I hope it is: Liverpool vs Wycombe Newcastle vs Spurs Arsenal vs Chelsea Southend vs Charlton but I fear it will be: Chelsea vs Liverpool Arsenal vs Wycombe Newcastle vs Southend Spurs vs Charlton
  18. Inter won the Coppa Italia which is less valuable than the Lge Cup. They won the league at the FA headquarters. AC Milan despite being in the crapper at the moment have always had more pedigree and consistent success.
  19. Looked bad alright. As others have mentioned it can be anything from a couple of weeks to a few months. Fingers crossed.

    pennant & bellamy

Pennant and Bellamy both did not play well but Bellamy was far worse. He missed 3-4 golden chances including a penalty. Both are low on confidence and I am sure both can improve significantly.
  21. Well it is on the front page of the most viewed Italian football website. Kind of like getting it published in The Mirror and not expecting a reaction.
  22. I hope so too Molby. My main worry is not Rafa (though I was worried when the White comments were published) but what his agent is saying about possibly leaving Liverpool if the offer is right. Of course it is an agent's job etc. but he is stirring it up with such comments.
  23. I think that Rafa would not be interested in joining Inter Milan. AC Milan on the other hand are a big, successful club. I'd like to think that Rafa loves it at LFC and will stay for many years to come. What worries me is the reported quotes by his agent. I hope they are quoted wrongly or made up to be honest as I do not like what he says.
  24. This is a translation of the article below reported in the Italian media: "Benitez is a winner and might leave Liverpool for a serious project-Agent" Inter and AC Milan are looking to the future. Besides scouring Italy and the rest of the world for new players, the two Milanese clubs may also be pondering a change of manager for their respective teams. When talking about a new manager for AC Milan, the names mentioned are Van Basten, Lippi and even Spalletti. Quite a few options are also mentioned for Inter Milan. After having his position questioned for months, it now seems as if it is Roberto Mancini himself who wants to leave Inter Milan. In recent days Mancini has admitted that he would like to have a go at managing a club in the Premiership. In that case Inter Milan would have to look for a replacement. Last year, besides talk of Mourinho, a name that consistently popped up in Moratti's circle is that of Rafael Benitez the Liverpool manager, one of the most successful managers at club level in recent years. Benitez's agent, Manuel Garcìa Quilòn, in an exclusive interview with calciomercato.com talks about the Spanish manager who has won so much in his career, despite his relatively young age. "Benitez is a very well prepared manager. He works 24hrs a day and prepares his teams tactically like few other managers in the world do. Just look at what he has won. The league and UEFA Cup with Valencia and in 3yrs at Liverpool he has won the Champions League, Super Cup and FA Cup." Manuel Garcia Quilon does not comment when asked about the reported interest shown in Benitez by Italian clubs. He does however say "Benitez would be very well adapted to manage in Italy, with his preferred style of play. He is one of the 3 best managers in the world and if an interesting proposal regarding a serious project had to come up we would certainlyt take it into consideration. Yes, in this case he may well even leave Liverpool. The Spanish coach is under contract with the English club until 2009.
  25. Based on 2006 performances it is Cannavaro and Buffon for me,especially their form in the World Cup. I'd give it to Cannavaro for the main reason that since the World Cup we have hardly seen Buffon playing any top level footie.
