If it is a case of a woman being too slow to keep up with the game then that should be tackled on an individual basis rather than ban all women from officiating. The way the game is developing it is very hard for any ref male or female to keep up. As for linesmen it is less of a problem. That has more to do with positioning and anticipation of play. Based on 2006 performances it is Cannavaro and Buffon for me,especially their form in the World Cup. I'd give it to Cannavaro for the main reason that since the World Cup we have hardly seen Buffon playing any top level footie.
