Not as good as he can be IMO. He is a few levels below what he was for Leeds and the first few months for us. I'm not going to knock him for it because he's doing well and improving but I'll be dissapointed if there isn't a lot more to come in the coming months.

Defensivley thought he was alright and received little support from whoever was supposed to be playing ahead of him. Certainly had a good battle with Kewell. His distribution was poor though.

Its all a bit stupid really. I know it was only a burger and that was harmless but footballers dont deserve to have things thrown at them in general. Verbal abuse and chanting is one thing but objects thrown by fans is another imo.

Probably because teams defend a bit deeper at anfield and pace is less of an issue, yup. I thought he did alright yesterday, 1st half anyway. Looked up for the fight and linked up well. Nothing spectacular but an improvement on recent games for sure. I'm still skeptical about him in general though, too often he isn't a goal threat at all which is different to say Crouch at teh start of the season who was at least missing chances. We'll see though, hopefully he comes good. Also, think he will deffo start on Tuesday night. Rafa probably brought him off earlier than usual with Benfica in mind.

Apart from the morons comment at the end, I thought the times article was spot on. Just read the Independent report too, again fair.

Ferguson basically said we are so hard to break down at the back that we only need a good 5 minute spell and probably one goal to win a game. It was clear as daylight we were better than them in every position.

No they dont. Virtually the whole country (except the blues and mancs) loved it, nearly every football fan lapped it up. Listen to 606 after the final, fans of all kinds of clubs coming on and congratulating us. Read the praise the whole club and fans got after the semi final and how much jubilation there was, how much respect and admiration the kop had won back. Only idiots say "well they only played...", most people recognise it for the unbelievable achievment it was. And who actually cares about these people anyway? I for one don't and cant believe people get worked up about it so much.

He is no where near his best, he could rip up any team when he was at his best at Leeds - he's not there yet but improving. As said above, the best thing about him is that he's playing on a regular basis.
