I take your point. I was implying that we should be winning 4 and at very least expecting to draw the Chelsea match, but I do conceed the point that the same argument could have made at my post. Sepcifically we need to take a minimum of 13 points from the next 5 league games. Sure, it can be argued that 11 points would be acceptable assuming one of those draws was against chelsea and that it also depends on the results of the other top 4 clubs, but we need to continue the momentum we currently have and try to build on that momentum. A points total is only acceptable when you consider the points total of your rivals. Our aim is to win the league, a target points total is a means to achieve this aim but is only relevant if our rivals dont achieve more. What is more important than the points total is the configuration of that total and the direct results against the our main rivals. For instance our home draw against Stoke is two points we have to make up throughout the rest of the season as it is highly unlikely that any of the other three will drop points at home v Stoke. What has happened over the last few seasons is that when our rivals drop points we dont capitalise thereby never really closing the gap. League football is such these days that, as the cliche goes, every game is a cup final and we must approach each game like this. IMO everything else is secondary.
