You're either taking the p1ss or never ever saw Kennedy play mate. Kennedy was an elegant, skilful player with a left foot to die for who transformed from a pretty good striker into a World Class LM. Kuyt runs around like f***, tries very hard, tackles like a fullback and is a pretty average striker who is playing pretty average at RM. Apart from that they're identical twins. He's doing better out wide thaqn up front because his workrate really helps and his lack of goals isn't killing us. His 'link' play as sugested on here actually involves passing to someone in the same shirt as him, if you go on that basis Reina's 'link' play is better than Dirk's. He's better than Pennant and Yossi in this current formation, which I agree with, but so what? And his shot that just missed yesterday, was it deflected closer or away from goal?

Arteta at the moment but hopefully we're looking at better than him in the Summer, Lescott for defo at LB and Yobo did as well as anyone has done all season against Torres yesterday, this season he's been better than Carragher.

Its 4 years further on and there is more money in the game now. He's Englands 3rd choice striker, with easily the best recent record who is experienced and proven in the PL, we will easily get £10M for him. I'm so trying to forget about him! I was only listing players we could get money for but HK's wages will be well over £50K per week. Carson - £8M agreed with Villa. Voronin - £2M. Pennant - £5M. Crouch - £10M+. Riise - £5M. Total £30M.

All 3 of the teams above us have far more pacy, attacking fullbacks than we do. They've all got better goal differences than us - United far better and the best defensive record in the PL, therefore the best defence and they don't actualy play a defensive, ballwinning central midfielder whereas it could be argued that we play 2 of them. Fast, strong attacking fullbacks are an asset to a team, they more than compensate for any "gaps" they leave by having the pace to recover and by usually keeping the opposition in their own half trying to stop them. Agree about the squad being cut, we could lose 5 players and not suffer at all. Carson, Voronin, Pennant, Crouch, Riise - £30Mish and we are not one little bit weaker.

Nice to agree for a change Looking at it as 'coldly' as possible since Sundays result, the one area that really stands out for me where we come up short against the other three top sides is at fullback. CB we're sorted once Aggers fit, CM speaks for itself, we score plenty of goals(could always do with another Torres), Babel's settling in out wide etc - but at FB we're miles behind players like Evra, Sagna, Eboue, Cole even players like Clichy, Brown etc offer far more than ours do. £20M spent on the fullbacks could offer more improvement on our overall play than £20M on Quaresma for me.

Terry plays with Carvalho, Cole and Beletti/Ferrerah(sp?) all of who could probably make our Olympic sprinting team, when he's played withv Alex and Ben Haim they've looked very leaky at the back. Pace is ESSENTIAL in the PL today, especially in defence. If we had Man Utd/Arsenal pace at the back we would be playing 15/20 yards further up the pitch, which would transform our attacking play and partially remove the need for Mascherano to cover the back 4 all day long. Don't hark back to Hansen etc not being quick, if you have quick attackers you need quick defenders if you don't want to spend all day on the edge of your own box.

I had use of 2 old traford season tickets a few years back when we drew 1-1, Berger freekick right in front of us and Solskjaer equalised just before half time. Absolute cr@p, great seats, great view, couldn't relax at all, didn't enjoy the game one bit and had a 'small' group of "Manc" fans all over us on the way to the bogs and back at half time. Would NEVER EVER do it again. Obviously executive boxes/seats are different

If I remember rightly Barry started off as CB, then LB, then LM, now CM and he's done well in all those positions. He's big, quicker than most are giving him credit for, athletic, good engine and stamina. Comfortable on the ball and a good deadball option. Not saying I want him but he's not anywhere near as bad as being made out here, he looked Englands best midfielder lately when playing in the centre after the dream team of Stevie and that Cockney t*** was broken up.

Is Guthrie as one footed as he looked? Apart from that he looked a tidy little player playing in a really poor team against the best side in the PL away from home.

To be honest I couldn't be @rsed going into it as you change your own goalposts so often, and if you think 'picking apart' consists of making more and more ridiculous statements then bully for you - I'm not the only one pulling holes in your "opinion" as this thread proves. Is our squad really that much better after 4 years, buying and selling????? Yes it is better, but not by as much as you imagine or possibly should be, and the results don't show much significant improvement. We also still have positions where the shortage of talent is alarming, fullbacks, out wide, 2nd striker which haven't really been adressed yet inspite of us buying 4 or 5 players for those positions since Rafa's been here. 4 years is quite a time in a team rebuilding process, especially when you start off with a CL winning squad.
