The A-Rod thing is irrelevant - the guy decided he wanted to spend that kind of money, and the team isn't worse off financially for it. It was an investment - just like the Galaxy spending the kind of money they are for Beckscum, they feel sure that in marketing alone it'll be a worthwhile investment. Bingo - it was them saying "Look we've got A-Rod, we're serious about being a contender, who else wants to come now?" Granted it didn't work, but you can't argue the idea to begin with.

Absolutely disgusting, something has to be done about this kind of thing.

I'd like to applaud this post for 2 reasons: 1 - It's good insight, nice information to pass along. 2 - It's the first post I've ever seen by Anny Road without a spelling mistake.

Did he really say that? Is there a source? If he did, he just went from being my hero to being my hero AND man-crush.

Stopped reading after this, did it get any more factually accurate?

The bankruptcy thing is irrelevant here anyway - in the States, up until this year at least, it's almost been PROFITABLE in some cases to claim bankruptcy. It was a broken system that was taken advantage of all the time.
