Point was, when someone asked where that figure came from, you said it was talked about when the deal was going through. Wasn't really the point though was it? The thought was which players have gone on to be a true success with another side, Friedel falls into that category easily.

I don't know how Rafa's mind works, but I can imagine this is for one thing: sell Crouch/Bellamy, replace with a guy who won't cost a penny, and use the net profit to put towards one of his main targets. Strikes me as a situation where Rafa doesn't think he'll gain/lose much talent-wise, but will make a good chunk of cash out of it for someone else.

Knowing Riise it was the draft of the club swinging by him that knocked him down. And who can blame Bellamy? Sitting in his room, wondering to himself which of the players was least likely to fight back if he went after them with a golf club/spanner...I'd have come up with Riise too!
