That's true but it's unlikely they'd all be missing at the same period. Gomez has missed more than half the season (which hopefully won't happen again) and I think we've only had to use a 5th choice to play centre back once? I'm not against bringing in another defender with potential but wouldn't be spending much of the transfer budget on it when there's plenty we could do at the other end.

Yeah we’re fine at centre back. Wouldn’t even consider spending money there in the summer unless Lovren leaves. Still can’t wait for Gomez to be back though.

I don't think it was a pen as obviously wasn't intentional and I'm not sure what else he could have done. I don't think he was deliberately making himself bigger. I'm not that surprised it was given though. It wouldn't happen here but in the Champions League they seem to give handball a lot more frequently, regardless of intent.

Me too. Don't see any need to move him into midfield. In a few years he could be the best right back in Europe. He's not playing right back in a Houllier/George Graham side. He's further forward than the midfielders a lot of the time. He probably gets more of the ball and gets to be more creative where he is now than he would being moved into midfield.

Great saves against Aguero and again with Silva towards the end there. He had zero reaction time for their first so all he can do is make himself big and hope Aguero doesn’t find the top corner. Think it’s harsh to criticise him much for that.

It’s a big part of it. He’s not a number 10. Wanting to play Salah in the centre isnt getting the best out of him or Firmino. The only player who’s played relatively consistently is Mane who’s in the same position as last season.

He was alright but he still looks slow and laboured. Wouldn’t be confident with him against a good side.
