But only if they meet the criteria, which is primarily potential for resale. I had hoped this summer would be a hybrid approach of sorts, a couple of well established players with a number of players who could develop into something great. So far its been players with potential, there is still lots of time but we still have issues in CM, LB and potentially upfront once Benteke goes.

I disagree, there are a few exceptions, maybe Benteke or Balo? Even will Balo his fee wasnt as high as suggested due to the behavioural clauses which I expect impact (ed) his wages too. We're paying high wages to Milner but he was on a free, we gave Suarez a bumper pay rise but only after his stock had risen and we knew he'd be off.

Yep, thats pretty much what it comes down to, FSG are not willing to sanction a high fee & wages. Its been said multiple times, I doubt its going to change while they're still our owners. I hope Klopps track record with players gets us punching above our weight and some (all!) of these players turn out to be great.
