Momo isnt a defensive midfielder though in terms of where he plays on the pitch, he plays much higher up, theres no way he should be played with an attack minded player, like Gerrard or Lucas (much more box-to-box than a 'sitter' like Alonso), he has to play with an Alonso or Masch, which limits our threat through the middle. A four of Stevie, Xabi, Masch and Lucas for next season please. Xabi and Masch to sit and Lucas and Gerrard to go play in front of them... Balanced.

To be honest in the games we are/should be dominating I don't feel there is a place for him on the pitch. He can't pass very well, or shoot very well and from a midfielder playing that much up field thats a big problem. His technique just inst quite good enough. If we start next season with Gerrard-Alonso-Mascherano-Lucas I will be over the f***ing moon. That means we would have bought Masch and Lucas will have a good year adjustment period. Those four players have far superior technique than Momo and even the English game is getting more technical with possession counting for much more than it has been, in Europe thats a given and has been for years. Those four I cant rate any higher and its a great balanced midfield with Masch and Xabi holding and Stevie and the boy Lucas playing more forward or box-to-box roles. I like it.
