With this I think we have players who are better equipped both to play deeper and further forward... I'm struggling to justify having Gerrard in the midfield over others. I quite like the ideal of using him in the front three, but not convinced he would do it there at the moment either. Its a strange one as he has been absolutely ridiculously good for so long.

I think Gerrard WANTS to play deep and this is the problem - he should be set free to do damage further up I think he would rather feel in the thick of it all, I'm never been convinced of him playing there, ever. Should be pushed up right behind Suarez. I'd actually consider benching him for a bit if he carries on in this form. Quite like the way Henderson is playing at the mo and I'm a big fan of Sahin when is he used properly so that is saying something...
