I think it just shows how desperate he is to get away from Madrid. He must have been told he has little chance of playing very often. The choice is between Newcastle every week, or Madrid every month. Not a great position to be in either way. It's hard to feel much sympathy though, in all honesty

I dont think it was a lack of cash that scuppered the Anelka deal. More that they had a price they would go upto and Fenerbache wouldnt play ball Even if they sign Luque they'll still be short of strikers. And he may be someone they want for lm considering where he's played the last 2 years
