    I thought he was eager to downplay it. Saying that the flag went up quickly, i.e. when it would have gone up had the new rule not been in place. Which isn't true I think that the VVD one was given offside by VAR, so the flag wouldn't have gone up, whereas last night the linesman flagged it.

    Commentators going on about the flag going up "pretty quickly". We’ve all literally just watched it! It went up after everyone had run towards the goal, and the goalkeeper, and then the ball was in the net! They're just sat there getting football wrong! @AccidentalPartridge must be rubbing their hands together with that prolonged smalltalk

    Got to assume, though, that Salah stops running as soon as the whistle goes, so so do the players. be difficult for the players to get going again after this.
