  1. Although two years ago he was unheard of and worth £4m. Brighton seem to get the best out of players. There is always the chance that he won’t shine in the same way elsewhere. Chelsea haven’t exactly excelled with anyone they took from Brighton from manager to players.
  2. I genuinely believe we had some encouragement from the player, but then the agent stepped in and scuppered everything because he has a private agreement with Chelsea.
  3. We may have offered a large part of the price upfront and they want to pay the whole thing over three or four generations as they usually do.
  4. There does seem to be some reason why they can’t just offer Brighton the full price and get it done and dusted now. If Caicedo is set on going there, then they have no problem with that part, but it looks like they are struggling to match our offer. We should not withdraw. Let’s see if they do.
  5. Chelsea just don’t want to pay the money. It’s a weird stance trying to get us to withdraw so that the price drops. Brighton know what he’s worth now and Tony Bloom would win in a head to head with Daniel Levy so Todd Boehly had better find an extra £30m from somewhere and be seen to have been had over. None of that helps us of course, but football really is eating itself now.
  6. If we were haggling over £2m to get to £50m, we are not going to go up £7m. Also if they are just using Lavia like they used Adams, they will find it very difficult to negotiate with any player or club in the future.
  7. Because we were bidding against somebody. Chelsea appear to be bidding against themselves.
  8. Why have they bid £55m if his price is £50m?
  9. Latest odds show him as 2/5 and shortening to join Chelsea. 11/4 and lengthening to join us. We should bet our £111m on him joining them, withdraw our bid and then have enough to buy Mbappe.
  10. Even if we don’t get him, it looks like we are bankrupting Chelsea.
  11. Yes, but we do it openly. I reckon Chelsea have made a side deal with the agent that won’t be declared.
  12. I reckon the agent is getting a large offshore fee from Chelsea and Liverpool only want to pay Brighton. That’s probably why we have offered more openly, but it would cost Chelsea quite a bit more to clinch the deal and they don’t have enough left to match our offer.
  13. He was desperate to join Arsenal, now Chelsea. Most likely he just wants London.
  14. Lavia may be a back up. It’s possible we are waiting to see if Real Madrid are forced to buy Mbappe now and will sell Tchouameni or Valverde to pay for him.

  23. Scoring is not part of Inter’s gameplan. 0-0 and penalties was what they have been playing for.
