  1. Totally disagree - Stevie is far from wasted on the right. He has had many a great game out day. It's not like he is being asked to hug the touchline. To me it adds better balance to the team. It may not a popular but I see Stevie as a great player but actually a great centre midfielder. His brillance is in his speed of thought & ability to cut teams open (and his shooting etc.). I don't see that he can currently completely dominate a game and pull the strings like I would look for in a world class centre midfielder. I prefer to see him out on the right with two of Alonso, Lucas & Masch in the centre. Don't get me wrong. It is by no means the reason for our poor form. Just wanted to debate the specific point.

  8. I've heard he's as nice a bloke as you could wish to meet. The book is one of the few footballer autobiographies worth reading (Tony Adams as well). It must of been a tough time recalling all his stories. An absolute legend of a player who just had a gift of knowing the right place to be in the pitch at the right time. He made many another player look better than they were (Babb etc.). Definitely in the top 2 or 3 Irish players of all time IMO. He comes onto Newstalk Radio in Ireland from time to time and just talks good common sense in his analysis of the games. He's a man that you could only wish the very best for. Pity the tread has been taken over with the MU sideshow
  9. That's a bit of a simplistic statement - if you are dealing with a deal of that magnitude and get evidence of the seller dealing behind your back then it would be not illogical to pull out. It was certainly not unbusiness like.
  10. See this is where the theory that they were scared off doesn't stack up for me. Shelling out 50% extra within a year contradicts it completely. The theory that they were not communicated to etc. just makes more sense to me.
  11. Of course I'm not saying that they aren't capable of putting spin on it but let's look at the facts about the people involved: Parry - Questionable record at the club. Some would go even further in their criticism. Moores - A good club man but again questionable business acumen Hicks - don't think i need to expand Gillet - I have a big question mark over him given he has disappeared in the last 6 months. DIC - Highly successful business entity with success in multiple markets including sports. Not saying it's black and white but to suggest that DIC walked away straightaway because of the competition seems strange to me.
  12. I have to say I find your interpretation of the events as bizarre. DIC are a highly respected business entity that have played a significant role in changing the face of Racing for one thing. to think that they would walk away from negotiations over a 24 hour delay makes no sense to me. Of all the parties involved I would place the most credibility in their word.
  13. Ya me too. I remember reading that he was the only premiership manager that wasn't.
  14. Hmmm....... Let me see - he is the Chief Exec of the club overseeing the day to day running of the club (during it's most farcical period ever) but you seem to see that he has no responsibility for what has gone on. He should be actively working with Foster Gillet as the middleman for the last year. I see no evidence of that. He should of been explaining how to operate with the media etc. In fact I think he has been a bystander for the last year. The fact that other clubs would hire him on a juicy package is irrelevant in my mind. This is Liverpool football club - since when have the poor standards of other clubs been our benchmark?
