  3. Your posts have been bizarre. Xabi hasn't been great this season but can't fault his display last night. Xabi and Masch were immense. It's niave to think that Chelsea wouldn't have good spells in the game. Considering Stevie and Torres were quiet I thought we controlled the game quite well. We're still in this.
  4. Exactly - that was my point. Lets stop putting players into position they are unused to.
  5. We didn't have a world class defensive midfielder (classing Xabi as more of a creative midfielder). We do have a worldclass centreforward. Utd are in a totally different situation with their squad. Dare I say it they can afford to have their signings not become their star players. If we were to spend that sort of £'s we would need an impact to our side similar to Torres, Masch, Reina. I'm not saying he won't. Just that it's riskier than signing a player in their natural position. I stand by my original point that we can't just sign players without considering how they fit in the side which was the post I replied to.
  6. Maybe. just think it would be big money to pay for a player you wouldn't be playing in their natural position. Would be slightly wary of it. Don't get me wrong he is quality

  8. I'm glad you're not manager. That's a pretty flawed logic. Just buying players without considering where they fit in leads to situations like Chelsea where they end up playing their best midfielder at right back. I'd question where Villa would fit the current formation which has always been Rafa's preferred one.

  10. Haven't agreed with a lot of what you posted so didn't see the point of adding your name to my comment
  11. To be fair I have read a lot of this thread and prongsy has posted a lot of good sense
  12. Ok either you were being sarcastic or you have just completely contradicted yourself
  13. I really don't get the quiet bit. The rest I don't disagree with.
  14. It's funny the way some people slate Hicks for not doing things the liverpool way - sorting it out within the club. But there's others slagging off Gillett for not talking enough to the media. Personally I prefer the Gillett method. That interview by Hicks has made the club a laughing stock - there's no way you'd see that at any other big club in europe (except for Madrid maybe).
  15. RIP YNWA
  16. According to a german journalist on Newstalk last night we are signing this guy. Nearly wrapped up according to him: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Philipp_Degen Plays RB for Borussia Dortmund
  17. It was to do with him playing the formation he is supposed to have stumbled upon this season We will challenge for the title if and when Rafa gets the cash to maintain a season long campaign with quality squad players like Chelsea & MU can afford.
  18. Obviously not all 11 are right but I wouldn't be suprised if 2 or 3 out of those players not currently at the club will join
  19. finally one that is a bit more realistic
  20. I was only watching on TV but didn't hear any.
  21. I thought at times he tore us apart through the middle. Quite a few times that they could of have been in if they had played a better final ball. I think Xabi was ok but not great. Certainly not immense as was posted on this thread earlier. Stevie on the other hand had another blinding game. Really stepped last night & sat.
  22. As ever a great performance by the travelling fans. I loved it when you could clearly hear nothing but the field of Anfield for about a minute shortly after our goal. THe a*** fans went dead for ages.
  23. Not having that - Alonso was one of our poorer players IMO. Too many lazy passes. And no need for your mockering
