  1. £10M we paid for Mascherano to sort everything out?!? well according to commentator Ian Dark we did. Something about Gerrard out there today... Not the same energy or intensity from him. I've always thought he's been very professional whenever he's been asked to play on the right but today he looks a bit like a kid in a strop. Maybe it's the rubbish streamed pic
  2. I worked in Brussels in 2005 and witnessed us winning the Champs League in the Bank Bar just off Avenue Louise. T'was some night.. There's the Michael Collins pub on Avenue Louise but O'Reillys as someone mentioned on The Bourse is as central as you get really although it's a bit shíte compared to the other two. Celtica is full of chavs but there's a good chance you might score one of them

I'd be inclined to go as often as possible also. There's no point at the mo when you can only get one ticket here and there and all last minute and more than likely left travelling alone as a result. The scum rely on thousands of Irish fans every week as season ticket holders and day trippers to fill old toilet and Liverpool have more support in Ireland from fans old enough to afford regular trips. I have one 'friend' (for want of a better word) who got a scum season ticket with the last expansion and I have a proper friend who is on the waiting list for years at Liverpool. Croke Park is a massive venue with a huge pitch but it's easy generate an atmosphere when everyone is up for it. Mayo V Dublin last year (sweet ) either of the rugby games so far, Ireland V Australia 4 years ago (Compromise Rules) in torrential rain. The more you have on your side in theory the easier it is to generate atmosphere and an intimidating one at that. I don't particularly think intimacy is paramount just some proper support that only Liverpool fans know from years of living the YNWA ethos

  6. I posted this link in the Mourinho no history thread.... Is this a "come and get me" or what? http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/t...sea/6443411.stm
  7. Well from this latest story today on the beeb website it looks to me like Maureenho is signalling his intent and maybe looking to set things in motion quicker than previously anticipated.... or am I reading too much into his PR skills http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/t...sea/6443411.stm

Or am I wrong in thinking the above... Is it only the 2 Valencia players charged with gross unsporting behaviour that can be suspended or can more be brought to task over their actions based on the UEFA Disciplinary bodies review..... hhmmm of course it's UEFA.... silly me
  11. So we couldn't have played any better at all... no room for improvement?!?!? It's great being the finished article innit? I want us to be the benchmark for all other clubs as I'm sure you do. If we can't take the constructive criticisms and learn from our mistakes we might as well pack up to f*** EDIT Just to clarify for the Whinge (seeing as it's come to name calling now )... I'm only referring to Giles criticisms
  12. Well then don't be criticising me for watching it then just because it's below you... As far as I can see Giles made some valid points... I trust you won't judge any further on this matter seeing as you refuse to watch what was said
  13. Cheers but I don't need your pity Anyway's it's Dunphy who thinks little of Gerrard, and I never suggested otherwise... Here judge for yourselves....

I think Valencia are the team to get with so many players up for suspension... Both goalkeepers included!!!!! Is there even a possibility of playing behind closed doors there???
  15. No??!?!? Bill O'Herlihy asked him to comment on how their analysis was unfair to Liverpool the night before and how they had received huge responses from the viewing public asking them to explain their bias.... Dunphy didn't deny that he was prejudiced against Liverpool..... He just ranted on again how "true Liverpool greats like Dalglish, Rush and Souness wouldn't play football like this... Liverpool is a great club with great traditions and this current side displays none of that" (sic).......... You could see him all happy and content that he had wound so many up..... Giles I pay attention to because his criticisms are constructive and the basic point he made the night before Liverpool were poor in the second half because they gave the ball away so much but he still thought we deserved to go through... Brady and Dunphy were certainly bitter but all Brady sees is Arsenal anway... He can't praise anyone else. I watch it and enjoy it cos it's pure comedy sometimes... and I trust the analysis of Giles cos he's a legend. I can't stand that Trevor Stevens though .... He's a c***
  16. A proper barney not like that pússy footing in Cardiff
  17. I know tonoghts games was a cup game but La Liga is losing a bit of it's gloss and in danger of losing ground on the Premiership similar to their Serie A counterparts. I've heard numerous opinions about the poor quality of La Liga this year but having only seen a small handful of games I can't comment. I would still happily watch a La Liga game but the soap operas that go along with the games are getting tiresome. At least it's a tighter battle than the Prem. War more like it!
  18. If you're talking in footballing terms USA '94 was a fine World Cup. Italia '90 was one of the worst in living memory. The worst aspect of the USA '94 was playing some games in unbearable heat that denied athletes the chance to play to their full potential but some of the football played was far better fare than Germany last year and France. Euro 2000 is the quality of football benchmark for me that all major football tournaments will be measured against. I wasn't around for Mexico '70
  19. Can he avail of the new FIFA rules relating to buying out one's own contract?
  20. Setanta's golf coverage is meant to be woeful.... 4 hours of coverage and 1 hour of golf contained within that coverage. Taken straight from the American networks.... Is that the case? I realise Setanta is an Irish name but from browsing their website it looks like it's Scottish based (granted I say that as it was the only address I saw) One other thing. I saw a headline somewhere along the lines of "Setanta secure Rugby World cup for 2007 and 2011"... but I've not seen the full story
  21. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/europe/6406455.stm As is the norm with Spanish games the remaining minutes will be played out on another occasion....Why don't they just throw the offending team out?? It doesn't seem to matter to Spanish fans what they get up to at games whether it's racist chanting or throwing coins at linesmen.. The punishments are almost non-existent they're so lenient Sevilla coach struck by missile Ramos was unconscious as he was stretchered from the pitchThe Copa del Rey tie between Real Betis and Sevilla was abandoned after Sevilla coach Juande Ramos was knocked out by an object thrown from the crowd. The incident happened after Sevilla's Freddie Kanoute scored in Wednesday's quarter-final second leg match. The Sevilla players left the pitch, causing the game to be halted, while Ramos reportedly regained consciousness after being treated by medical staff. The first leg, which had been played at Sevilla's stadium, had finished 0-0. The normal procedure in Spain when matches are called off is for the remaining minutes to be played at a later date. The build-up to the Seville derby was dominated by arguments between the two clubs over whether or not Sevilla president Jose Maria del Nido would be allowed in the VIP box at the Betis stadium. After mediation by the Andalucian regional government, Betis finally allowed Del Nido to attend the match although a number of fans threw objects at him as he took his seat. There was further controversy because Betis had placed a bronze bust of Del Nido's arch-rival, Betis owner Manuel Ruiz de Lopera in a seat just behind the Sevilla president. Last season's cup quarter-final second leg between Valencia and Deportivo Coruna was abandoned after a linesman was cut on the head by a coin thrown from the crowd. The remaining 46 minutes were played behind closed doors one week later.
  22. So it's between the chavs and the scum now

  24. Are Sky and Setanta 100% totally independent of each other?? No chance of any cosy cartels down the road?
