You quote all kinds of stats when it comes to Quaresma (plays in the Portuguese league) and then dismiss anything Kuyt or Babel have done in Holland, due to the fact that this league is "piss poor" according to you. I wonder why that is.

Yet he did this in Valencia and won two titles. And as you all know but somehow refuse to acknowledge Chelsea and ManU have "rotated" statistically speaking as much as we do and have won titles this way. As I said, too impatient and demanding - a bit naive if you ask me.

I think this thread is a prime example of the kind of impatience that Rafa mentioned on an e-season interview last week when he was asked about Sammy Lee being sacked. I think John am Rhein has put it well in one of the threads on here where has made the point that you can't really define what is acceptable for a manager or set a time limit on when he needs to deliver the Premiership etc. You either back the manager and believe in what he does or you get a new man in as soon as possible. FWIW I think Chelsea (Abramovich) made a huge mistake in letting Mourinho go and whatever you say about Martin Jol, I think he's a competent manager who was dictated by a clueless board at Spurs and the club is in turmoil due to the incompetence at board level. Someone with Rafa's credentials should not need to "prove" anything to the likes of Andy Gray, Charlie Nicholas or Mark Lawrenson, let alone some internet drama queens. Another point worth mentioning is again from Rafa in one of the e-season interviews (can't remember which). He was asked about his rotation policy and he pretty much confirmed that he is willing to take the risk of losing some points at the first part of the season in order to get really going for the run in with all the players fit and firing. Again, either you (the board really, not the drama queens on football discussion boards) back this judgement or you get a new guy in, who will focus more on getting the confidence up by winning as many games with his best players at the start of the season. I genuinely believe we will make a strong push and be thereabout at the business end of the season with Rafa's methods and his new players, unless we are as unlucky with the injuries as we have been so far.

That I agree with, but... Momo has been a lot worse than Javier, who himself hasn't played well at all. Add to this the fact that Gerrard has been struggling for form and the injury to Xabi adn you have to wonder if we should have used Lucas more.

We did play ok. Well enough to win it without the shambles at the back for the first goal. Rafa and Stevie are spot on.
