  1. With Konate's injury record, you would ideally like to have a 5th CB so I could understand why they would be interested in doing that. Regardless of Kosta's contract, he's not going to be the long term LB at the club. I think Robbo has some years in him, but you would like to get a player now if you can, that's going to be nailing down that position down the line. Bradley for instance has taken his chance as RB, and has changed that dynamic in the position and what we can do with Trent
  2. We owe them a beating, haven't won in the last 4 against them I think?
  3. His dad talking about a move is poor form. No surprises that South American players want to play in Spain, but at least keep it private and dont go on about it in the press. That said, the only Madrid side that would be interested maybe, is Atleti. He doesn't have a hope in hell to play for real given both Vinicious and Mbappe play in his position. Barca are skint, so not entirely plausible either at the moment.
  4. The managers shouldn't be playing them, especially if they're going to the Euros, why risk them, it's maddening that idiots are in charge across the board in football.
  5. Robbo potentially misses out through injury
  6. I hate international fixtures of any sort. Goes without fail, that we get one of our players hurt in a meaningless game.
  7. Yeah I don't detest him for leaving, it was a s*** show at the club at the time, his comments about being at a big club at Chelsea was weird non the less. I think the fact that he really didnt do well at Chelsea, makes it easier for us to accept him, even though he won with them. But he's said numerous times, he enjoyed his football the most here. That aside, still cant forgive Owen for kissing a Manc badge.
  8. I sent an email last week.
  9. He's not our best forward, and he's not performed well in a few big games as of late but bringing up the Manc's flop who has 1 measly goal all year, as some sort of stick to criticize Gakpo with, is mental. he's got two goals [both in FA Cup] and 0 assists in 30 appearances, in all competitions. Woke up a phenom
  10. There's a lot of terrible refs across Europe, but my god the English ones take the piss by a country mile We've had 3 games where we have dropped points on the back of them getting the calls wrong
  11. Agreed, as much as we seemed in control, I felt we needed the 3rd to kill their hopes of getting back into the game, and the more we wasted our chances in the box the more I felt it would motivate them to push on the longer the game went on at 2-1
  12. A record amount of bad decisions in one match by us, made the loss more frustrating than it would have been otherwise.
  13. The fans should be supporting any player that is given their all and trying whilst playing for us. Crouch went on what a 20 match run without scoring a goal, but we all backed him in that period. Cody may not end up being one of our top players or key players, he's made his contribution this year at a decent rate, and could still get better. He hasn't been impactful in the last few games, hopefully his confidence isn't shot and he can contribute well enough down the line again
  14. Right, I thought I mentioned it previously in one of my posts " Again, we did well in the context of the situation but we gave up 19 shots on goal, 9 on target, their XG was 2.28" Should have amended that to 19 shots overall, 9 on target
  15. Someone said we've defended like this all season long. I disagreed, we've been crap defensively in 2 out of the last 4 games, but if we were defending that badly in every game this season or anything close to it, we wouldn't be joint 1st in the league and as successful as we have been.
  16. Nobody's upset. I explained what I said and why I said it.
  17. I didn't say that. I said you cant afford to do that every game and expect things not go wrong. For context we gave up almost three times more shots on goal yesterday than we did against City.
  18. Exhaustion sometimes causes bad decisions, it was poor, but the course of the tie changed when we fannied with the ball in front of goal in regulation when we would have ended the game. The moment we got into ET, it was going to be an issue for us given our mileage in recent weeks/months.
  19. I'm not using the LC as an example because of the obvious massive changes we had to make for that game, but the notion that we defended well in that game is nonsensical. We did well given the situation and the context of the game, but Chelsea had chances, very good ones that Kelleher had to save and did brilliantlly. Again, we did well in the context of the situation but we gave up 19 shots on goal, 9 on target, their XG was 2.28 Chelsea and United have been poor all year long with scoring chances [Chelsea in finishing them, they create more than united], but we didn't defend well, again I used the Manc game yesterday which was poor by all metrics defensively. You don't give up 28 shots on goal on average and maintain the position that we do, so the suggestion that our defending has been like this all year, is OTT. The loss has nothing to do with what I'm saying, I posted when we beat Sparta in Prague, and I had a problem with how poor we were defensively leading up to the City game. We performed incredibly well against City, defensively included, but my thoughts about recent games I mentioned and the patterns are the same in those examples. I bring it up in this coming game, Brighton are inconsistent, but they do have the ability to hurt a team if we aren't more serious about how we defend ala yesterday. You can't afford to give up 28 shots, consistently game after game and expect it not to be a problem. We haven't done that this year in all of our games, otherwise we wouldn't be in our position but that's why I mentioned those games recently.
  20. Except we weren't, the defending was non existent in Prague who couldn't finish their dinners, they got far too many open looks than they should have. We won so who cares, but the problem that existed on that night, was an issue yesterday. You can't have the opposition at any level, have 28 shots on your goal.
  21. Defensively we have been crap in a few games recently [Really good v City, atrocious v United yesterday and in Prague], United who have scored only 39 goals in the league all season, scored 4 yesterday, with 28 shots on our goal. we've had to do loads of rotating due to injuries of course, and I'm sure it doesn't help but Brighton who blow hot and cold, can hurt you when you play as poorly defensively as we have.
  22. Depends how badly he tore his hamstring. If it's a grade three, it would be three months.
