Setting up to be yet another Chelsea Liverpool final isn't it? Although they really ought to have been playing 88mins with 10 men, how the ref missed that tackle by Caicedo I'll never know. Also Gallagher diving in the box, if the ref would've done his job properly instead of being a f***ing pussy then Gallagher would never have made it to the final whistle.

This is only the start lad, wait until a day after the window closes and our only fit CB is Virg.... -
You don't need to wish me luck, a welcome would've been perfectly acceptable. Then you're no man of authority then, are you?
-
Well....unless there's a Jimmy inside, then I might be willing to entertain the idea.
-
Tongue in cheek as in......erotically? Maybe I don't want a welcome Murph. Maybe I've already had a welcome from the first guy that welcomed me (sorry, can't remember who it was) & I don't want anymore welcomes because once you've been welcomed you can't be re-welcomed. Maybe I'm not overly sensitive enough to care either way. There is only 1 Case, Jimmy's Case. I do not and will not recognise any other case or cases. Yes it's my second day, give me a break ok! Wow, look at that.....a submerge! Don't even know how I did that.

If we have high hopes for Clark then yes, if not then no.....I think we had a look at both Doak & Clark during pre-season. Doak clearly showed the higher pedigree and if we didn't have plans for him to pick up enough minutes, then they should be heading out on loan. The likes of Doak & Clark aren't even part of a 25 man squad, you keep that 25 man squad relatively healthy then there isn't much need to keep the kids around. Morton earned rave reviews at Blackburn and is doing the same at Hull, he'll have a better chance when he comes back to someone like Clark as a result & even if he doesn't make the cut as a squad player........we can do what we did with Brewster, Wilson, Kent, Ward etc and get a decent wedge as his stock would've been raised & there will be clubs paying attention to who these players are. You can only benefit from sending your prospects on loan & no not to clubs like Halifax or Macclesfield as I rate them as being above that level. -
I can imagine lad, that was how long? Almost 9 hours!!! You do more walking in a day than I do in a week you absolute machine.

Sure it can, but this doesn't enter the mindset when it comes to a young players future. Now he's wasted a whole season of his development when he could've been playing week in week out and clocked up valuable experience on his road to cementing himself as a first team player. Now he's another one in the treatment room with 5-6 other players (as we conveniently always seem to have), it's almost like this club is becoming the birthplace of crocks. The kids played more for the u21s this season than the first team, what's the point? -
Who actually believes for a second we were looking at Mbappe as a viable option, let's not kid ourselves, the guys over in Saudi bid 260m for him and were offering him the kings ransom in wages. If you believe the reports we wanted Caicedo then you have to believe the bid we put in (which came almost 3 weeks before the deadline, not 3 seconds), he decided on Chelsea so we moved on. 9th net spent over what period? Whether you like it or not you have to accept that the club have other huge expenditures such as wages + bonuses and agent fees. Just go have a look at the clubs financial report & you'll see in greater detail. Round about 170m goes out the club every season on player wages alone. You have to remember LFC is a business project for FSG, they're not fans like us & the model FSG operate with there isn't anymore room to spend x amount on players without them taking out loan after loan & putting the club in jeopardy much like what the Glazers are doing with the Mancs.

Just a bloke up for a discussion or 2. I hope that's alright with you?

We need to allow the front 3 a bit more freedom to roam aswell otherwise it becomes a bit too predictable, especially in Lucho's case. In part what made Sadio Bobby and Mo unplayable for so long was frequently interchanging positions and popping up in different areas of the pitch, linking up in short spaces and defenders could never quite work out whether to stick, twist, push up or what.
-
I'm by no means FSG's biggest fan (wouldn't even call myself a fan tbh as I don't really have that connection with owners as I do the manager and players), I thought they've let us down one too many times in the past but I also don't see them as wholly responsible for what's gone on the last few years.....Klopp & the recruitment guys needed to be more vocal for their desire of CB's the season we had them all injured or their desire to buy midfielders at the right time when is was evident the likes of Fab and Hendo were passed their sell by date, maybe we have to take Klopp's word for it when he says he was genuinely satisfied with the midfield options he had, the line is drawn after that. You mention most time we buy a cheaper version, well I hate to think who were targeting before to end up with Nunez for 65m, Szobo for 60m, Mac for 35m, Diaz for 45m, Gakpo for 40m, Jota for 40m, Konate for 40m etc? Me being new here doesn't mean anything other than me being new here, I carry the same opinions from 1 place to the other. Whether I'm sat in the Kop, sat in a pub on Walton Breck, or on some forums board.

He's decent, decent like your Odemwingie's Yakubu's Austin's & Bamford's of this world, that's about it. We've seen a million Solanke's come and go. They only ever turn out to be decent. If a top club in England/Europe turn out for him then great for him but I have my doubts.

What a huge shame for Doak, we really missed a trick not loaning him out in the summer. Why we feel this urge to keep these prospects around despite them playing no substancial minutes and then picking up injuries in the u21s I have no idea. Look how it benefited Harvey & Quansah, how it's benefitting Morton. The same one Thiago is due back in, then it'll feel like a new double signing!!! -
Downward spiral in terms of......what exactly? & what do you mean by having Jan signings sown up by now? Sturridge Coutinho Virgil Diaz Gakpo, none of these guys were sown up 2 weeks before NY'sD? Allocation of Annie Rd I couldn't really give 2 hoots about, the expansions of both stands that they said they were gonna do, they've done. Why can't be be happy with that?
-
Lol. Should we swap Szobo for JWP too seeing as one is clearly on the decline and the other is in the form of his life?
-
Does anyone have any belief we'll do anything next month to improve the squad? Maybe like bring forward a CB signing so that we don't need to go after 1 in the summer? Or maybe a proper RB to switch back into a familiar 433 and thus converting Trent into a more conventional midfielder? For all the talk of a new #6, I don't see it. Personally think Klopp is satisfied enough with Mac/Endo sharing that responsibility. Based on what I've seen so far this season I'd be ok with Endo carrying that on with Mac/Szobo as the #8s (like we saw in spells during pre-season).
-
You'd expect to qualify from those ties; Feyenoord, Milan, Probably Lens, Sporting, Benfica, Braga, Galatasary and probably Marseille. Nothing special there but a lot of tricky sides capable of beating/knocking us out if we're anything less than 100% so it'd be nice to take this competition seriously from hereon in. It'd be great to see us come out of this season with 2 trophies even if we end up falling a little short in the title race.
-
I wouldn't say so, in the past I'd say only his finishing was letting him down. He could and really should be on about 35-40 goals for the club by now and performance wise he was really good despite all the chances he kept on missing, created a lot of chances, occupying defenders and keeping them busy with his work rate and attitude. Now even a few of the above have dried up, we haven't really seen him involved. The link up play with Mo we saw earlier hasn't blossomed. His hold up play like we saw at Wolves which set up Harvey's goal isn't there and as he's not a striker to drop deep he's finding himself a bit too isolated and marking himself out the game.
-
I'm a big fan of Darwin and have been since day 1 so I'm willing to put the last few months down to a slump in form (along with the rest of the forwards + Szobo) and I don't doubt he'll start banging them in regularly soon. I don't think our current set up brings the best out of the players & Klopp bringing on Gomez before Harvey or Jones last night makes me thing he's not entirely happy with it either.....I cannot for the life of me remember the last time we played a top game in the first half, we've looked infinitely better when Gomez has come on at RB and we've used Trent to get higher up the pitch. Gomez has actually got forward well and overlapped on many occasions which has helped the balance of the team & it'd be nice if we get the chance to see this from the start.

Can't wait to be inside Anfield for this one to get a close up view of the new Annie Rd stand, buzzing. Expecting 4-5 changes to be made & hopefully that'll be enough to see us through the next round. Kelleher Quansah Gomez Harvey & Jones to come in. -

But onto the positives, which were Ali Endo Kostas Ibou and Virgil all playing very well. Barely gave Utd a sniff all game.
