  1. I am going to watch it again right now, I've only seen it once but live, I didn't expect much from it. OK, the ball was better than I thought BUT Ferdinand did very well to shepard Cisse away from it, it was a very very difficult chance whether he'd taken on his left or right. He made the decision to try and flick it with his right, didn't pay off. Doubt very much any other striker would have bent it round both Ferdinand and the on-rushing VDS with their left though. And before the bandwagon jumps on me, he should not have missed the chance in the 2nd half, it was criminal to be still rolling around - but the rolling is what pisses me off, not the missing, every striker misses chances.
  2. My username was only a change from SuperEmile I have no attraction now for Cisse, he's lost me since the beginning of this season. I do think there are reasons for his lack of form, I don't think we play through him like he's always had and if someone does do that, he'll score goals for them. It won't be us, it's a shame, that's all. It must be remembered though he was a GH signing and in that team, he's have been awesome. I'd like to know what Rafa thought of him and whether he genuinely wanted him.
  3. You've already said it took just the Luton game to call for him to be sold. He quite clearly is not "gash", he's made it this far. He's probably not going to make the grade here though. Bet you that if someone takes gamble and plays through him like we did under GH with Owen, he'll score a hatful. That team probably won't win the European Cup that way, which is why I'd back Rafa on whatever decision he takes, but he will make a top goalscorer for someone.
  4. Oh come on now. Both are ridiculously over-priced but I'm glad we spent £14m on Cisse than £24m on Drogba. Cisse at least can score with his foot rather than shin/knee/arm/deflection from Lampards shot.
  5. You can f*** off and all. Hyypia was poor for that game, shall we sell him? I take no pride in being a knee-jerk muppet like you, hence you'll not find me calling him "gash" after a single game. I've already said his attitude and general play yesterday was poor and he's lost me now. I'm not going to crucify him over a miss, which The Messiah (Owen) used to miss similar chances as well. No, it genuinely wasn't that perfect a ball. Owen missed plenty on his left, wasn't criticised was he? The perfect throughball would be on the strikers favoured side.
  6. No, it's not basics, it's better anticipation, better awareness of his teammates, better holding up of the ball - all attributes that he didn't really need when the ball was played over the top, through him at Auxerre where he was THE outlet for them. He didn't see his fee did he? If he cost £5m, would that make it acceptable to coach these things into him? We paid £7m for Crouchy, is it acceptable to coach him?
  7. Eh?
  8. I think you'd be hard pressed to find a top manager who hasn't lost significant amounts on money on a few players though.
  9. Whoa, hold on a second now. I said before anything that it's not an excuse for him, it's not the reason he went out there yesterday and stank and even I've lost patience with him now. I just find it a little poor that he was so clearly 2nd choice right from the summer, when it was made perfectly clear we would have done anything to get rid and bring in a guy who left us for his "dream move" elsewhere. It's not a great platform to build form from, neither is his sometimes being farmed out wide right. All of which I agree with as it helps the TEAM but doesn't help him, which is where performances like yesterday come from. It does not excuse his obvious deficiencies in heading we saw yesterday, but for yesterday's blast over the bar, c.f. with the Everton goal. It does show that he knows where the goal is, it's just whether Rafa wants to coach the rest into him or wants to cut his losses. I'm betting the latter.
  10. I have to say that while this is no excuse for yesterday, the club haven't really backed him since he came back so well from the injury have they? People should think about that before demanding he put in 150% every game.
  11. He slipped v Giggs as well.
  12. Are you trying for "accepted truth by repetition"?! I can see where you're coming from, but Luis has scored some great "poaching" goals but also missed some absolute sitters.

  14. All of those lads look very very good, but the defending on those goals - hilarious!
  15. I know, f*** me, it's not hard is it? I-N-C-E OK?

  18. He's right and my username says it all about my support previously for Cisse.
  19. Exactly. He hasn't been THAT bad (typical Cisse reaction on this forum) but he needs to gain some awareness. But he was never bought for his link-up play, he is a finisher, plain and simple, one who likes balls to run on to. And that pass from Stevie really wasn't THAT good either.
  20. Would have thought he's ideal to come off the bench and slow things down if needed. However, guess Rafa thinks Gerrard can always come inside with Kromkamp/Kewell on right, with Riise up to LW and Traore into LB if we really need a change like that. Right, off to watch this. COME ON YOU REDS!!!!!

    Morientes

Look at the way the Man U board backed Fergie this Jan, buying in PROVEN class in Vidic and Evra. You won't find them making calamitous mistakes today.
  22. No Didi on the bench, which is odd. When was the last time he played?
  23. Dudek, Traore, Morientes, Kromkamp, Pongolle.
  24. Stigger or AnfieldCop are the chaps who usually have those mate.
