Hard to say really. His numbers were great last year so it’d be unlikely to decline so much over a few months but I don’t think he should be starting anytime soon now. Everything about his games been off this season from being non existent, awful first touch, wayward shots and being greedy. You’d imagine he’s probably frustrated with his own form but he isn’t doing himself any favours. Today exemplified it with the Wirtz chance, he knows Wirtz hasn’t had the best start and could have done his confidence the world of good even with a tap in, but chose himself instead of the team and went for personal glory. That’s the type of crap someone like Fergie would have sent someone to the reserves for - when a player starts to act that it’s more about them than the team. Slots got an opportunity to stamp some authority now.
