To be honest, I couldn’t really care less what other teams look like when my point is about the Liverpool squad relative to other Liverpool squads in history. If you want to look at something different, then you crack on.
Not sure that’s how it works. Jota, Elliott, Konate, Jones, Tsimikas and Thiago for Wijnaldum, Lovren, Shaqiri, and Lallana feels stronger and deeper to me.
He’d have played a lot less if we’d had centre backs all season and Thiago hadn’t been victim of an attempted amputation. Not too fussed about replacing him in literal terms.
Which bit? That it isn’t the deepest strongest squad we’ve ever had (no idea when if it not now) or that we haven’t got any gaping holes that urgently need sorting?
I think we’re stronger all things considered personally.
I think we’re in a world now where a good transfer window isn’t the position your squad is in (probably the deepest and strongest squad we’ve ever had), it’s how much you spend. Not quite sure what the gaping need is for it to be declared a shambles really.
Feels a bit like spending time with someone who wins Crufts every year and then going out on your own and agreeing to have a go at winning it and you get given a pig to try and win with.
Amount of players who would have just headed that ball to Salah in the run to the second goal is huge. For him to just bring it down and play and us score seconds later was great. Shame the disallowed goal didn’t count given how good that ball was.
