Agreed. I’m not saying get one of them but these lads are supposed to be the continuity themselves and set the vision for the whole footballing side of the club. They keep being rubbish. They seem largely judged by what they do in transfers despite the remit being way wider and even within those narrow confines, our squad replenishing has not been up to it. I really dislike them and what they represent.

I don’t think Swagger’s post is representative of the complaints. I would take a Bootroom equivalent at that level of the club if we were going Shankly, Paisley, Fagan. I don’t think we are. It’s a self selecting group ponces.

He was good second half of his first season and the vast majority recognised this. He had scored a brace v Arsenal and in the semis of Europe and against Man City a couple of times. By this stage of his second season which was the direct comparison, he was well established in that Coutinho, Firmino, Mane frontline. I think he was genuinely ahead of Sturridge. Perhaps Wirtz will be good and turn it around. It’s what we all want but I disagree with you, he’s been pretty rubbish. Maybe he has been a shade above that but that’s not what any of us wanted.
