Admittedly Scotland have defied all odds and historically been even more rubbish than England but there were plenty of external reasons for this, most notably the non selection of 'Anglo' players. The list of players they've produced is staggeringly good. Dalglish, Souness, Johnstone, Law, Bremner, White, Hansen and Mackay are surely up there with any eight players England have ever produced? You might argue that Johnstone never proved it in a decent league but the fact that Celtic fans regard him as their greatest ever player, and therefore presumably better than the King, speaks volumes. Then you've got other Scottish league legends like John Greig and Jim Baxter as well as top performers like Leeds' Eddie Gray and our own Ian St.John. Some of you are actually old enough to have seen most of these players play, so take it away old c****, name your all time Scotland and England sides and speculate on which one is better.
