I enjoyed the game yesterday and thought that despite the final result there were many positives. I felt a little trepidation before the game but left with a new sense of optimism. I went to the 2nd best day of athletic events at the Olympics and really enjoyed it. But was thinking to myself halfway through the game yesterday (when LFC was winning) that for me the passion, tribalism and excitement of a good game of football was of a different order of excitement and enjoyment.

Given the stories that RvP is off to Utd shouldn't he be after a move there?

Setting the right gearing & debt ratio for a business is very complex and way beyond the level of debate on here. The key point to remember is that FSG are (still) a totally different proposition to the two before. They are obviously trying to build a sustainable business model, not milk the assets. It may/ not bring the success we all want in the sort term but I've no doubt they crave the same success simply to appreciate their asset.

Echo are supposed to be reporting that we've opened negotiations for the Icelandic fella for about 7m - my spell checker won't let me write his name

Wonder if Whelan will, try to get Rafa to replace Martinez, should he get the LFC job. Think he might try just to stir things between FSG and fans.

If we can't get Guardiola, Kloop or even Rodgers is it possible that Moyes will get on the list?

I hope and I probably believe that's true but it's so difficult to think objectively after the hurt from Dalglish being sacked. I'm sure time will help but it would be good if they could do something to bring Dalglish back into the fold to help the healing and get everyone back on side.

Can't see it's already been posted but there is a rumour that he has told FSG he doesn't want a pay-off and to use the money to sign players.

I seem to recall many games when Torres contributed little, every thing he did failed then suddenly he'd score. Apart from scoring goals (which is obviously pretty important) I think Suarez is a more skilled footballer. A Chelsea mate would frequently tell me Torres was a crap footballer just a great finisher. He tells me now Torres has kept all his attributes accept the ability to score.

Is that baby black? is it part of his defence: showing he holds black babies?

Even if it is his account it could have been someone else using it. As with Chris Huhne speeding, maybe Powar will claim Aasmah Mir tweeted on his phone.

Also point that many negative posters forget is that this has been seen by Dalglish as a project; needing time to develop and mature. I would expect there to have been discussions with Dalglish, Commolli and Henry etc to discuss signings and options last summer where there would have been a number of scenarios. Given Dalglish's comments about it being a project I'd have expected those discussions to have been frank and realistic i.e. we will do well this year to get into the top 4. I think the owners want to build something sustainable and will not be expecting instant gratification.

I thought I could follow what was going on but you've completely lost me there

It would seem reasonable to explore GDs question; if a criminal offence has allegedly been committed should the FA have investigated and passed judgement or should they have handed it over to police and CPS.

I've written to a few politicians and In considering who to get in touch with I seriously considered him, especially the way most of the press has dealt with it. But didn't. Maybe he needs to letters too. I think he's actually a WBA supporter.
-
It would be nice to think all that but don't forget this will be reviewed by a bunch of politicians all with different vested interests.

I've asked Fare and Kick it Out to feature it as supporting good race relations, but got no action or response yet.
-
I really hope it's extended to input and comments from groups like Kick it Out. Their representative Lord Ouseley blasts LFC, who have an excellent record with race relations. Why does he do it? He's on the Board of the Manchester United Foundation and his organisation (Kick it Out) is sponsored by The FA, could that explain his actions?
-
Don't follow that. In 2010/11 no LFC fans found guilty of racial abuse. 2 Manu fans found guilty. Then look at figures for behaviour of away fans and Manu figures stand out as the worst behaved fans.

I hadn't realised there is an Independent Football Ombudsman. Anyone can complain about football matters. Does anyone have knowledge of how effective the process is? Am minded to make a complaint about the Suarez case but wonder whether it may be better to await the outcome of the Terry case. If he's found not guilty and receives no ban from the FA then there would be very strong grounds for complaining i.e. balance of probability vs. beyond reasonable doubt evidential requirements.

But what's the difference between the cup game at Anfield and the league game at their place a week or so later?
-
What are your reasons for thinking it has no relevance?
