  1. leaving Suarez on the bench is final proof, if the team selections up to this point wasn't enough, that Kenny is utterly unbound by footballing conventions. He gives no regard for what might seem like good ideas, what one would expect to see. He analyses what a game needs without any resort to hackneyed old formulas and implements it. There's no expiry date on that kind of tactical mind. He could be out of the game for 30 years and he'd still be a top manager. Dalglish: The anti-redknapp. Actually more like the anti-hodgson who has only one way of setting up teams that hasn't changed one iota in 35 years. A man utterly stuffed with worn out tactical clichés

    Kenny

I want to write poetry and epic prose to express my love for him, yet words are not enough. Kenny better watch out. He's in for a big kiss if I run into him.
  4. every single lineup has had me thinking 'wtf kenny' for the last fives games. 4 wins and 1 draw. Kenny knows best.
  5. Souness is and was a Liverpool man and I for one am proud of him being so.
  6. I didn't even know it was possible to cut and paste banners.
  7. Rafa was like being with a superfit bird, who was pretty smart too and said all the right things. And put out with a cracker in bed from the first date. It's great, you can see yourself get narried, you don't listen to the voice that asks 'biut is she the one' because you don't believe in those things anyway. After a few years, some of the shine comes off. She's still lovely, but she has a few personality issues. And eventualy, becomes an absolute bore in bed. Part of you want sto give her another chance, because you know she could be amazing, she was before. Another part of you wonders why she's not taking care of herself and if she is gonna let those love handles keep growing. A big fight ensues and you break up. Out of self-loathing, you have a brief fling with that ugly bird from school who always fancied you but was never good enough for you. You could have gone back to your ex but you were in a dark place at the time and it wouldn't have turned out right. Then, a bit later, you're feeling ebtter and see clearly enough to dump her and she comes back in your life. And you remember what true love feels like. No question of whether you might marry her or if it will work out. You just know you are soulmates for life because you want to give her a big sloppy kiss everytime she opens her mouth. I love you Kenny. PS. No homo.

  9. These days, it's the rafaelis wh are the splitters. The rest of us are firmly royalists.
  10. Very interesting and enjoyable read that. Basing the Carroll transfer on the Torres deal is definitely a different way of thinking about player valueand economics than what we ususally see.
  11. By then, Ferguson had won enough that he could do whatever the f*** he wanted with the squad. Only idiots would dare question it.

was just thinking about when he was charged with finding a new manager in the summer. I reckon that for all his desire to manage us, he would be too humble to put himself forward just because he wanted the job. Imo, he looked at the club, saw all that was missing and figured that with his background, knowledge of the club as it's meant to be and his own capacity, there wasn't anyone else around who could go in and rectify things properly the way he could. So he put himself forward. "I told him I was disappointed he applied for the manager’s job – because I didn’t think that was ever going to really happen for him." - f*** off roy. and twice on a sunday.
  13. He shouldn't be saying any of those things. The Torres for 70m will be spun in the media as a 'look what I could have gotten' thing. And as ex-manager he shouldn't be openly clamoring for the job when someone else is occupying the seat.
  14. no doubt. his refusal to pass the ball to lucas is ridiculous.
  15. This also explains how he could be in spain while doing deals in england.
  16. 'if he has to go'. And as for the rest. Jesus, you'd think it wasn't just a week ago we learned no player is irreplaceable. I dearly want him to stay, but it's not sacrilege to consider that he might move on as well.
  17. He'll be wheeled out for CL away games and Bernabeau and whatever equivalent they can find of league cup games and that it is. He made his bed.... Even Hyypia in his prime struggled with him and he was probably the centreback in the league best equipped to do so.
  18. 20m is good value for Reina. If he has to go, I'd be ok with that. We could buy almost any keeper with that.

    Kyrgiakos

Me too. He offers something different to our current centrebacks. Skretl doesn't really have any outstanding qualities the others don't have more of. And from a moneyball perspective skretl has higher re-sale value.
  20. Not true. He came very close to winning the CL qualification round.
  21. stick him on the bench at home against the rabble, give him minutes when we're 2-0 up. I know it's youtube clips but surely he is good enough to make the step up.
  22. Remember Crouchie's first for us. If that is not an OG neither is this. Even now, it is hilarious that he broke his duck for us with one of the jammiest goals ever scored.
  23. It's been almost 18 months since we've had three wins on the bounce in the league.
  24. it's an impressive turnaround. A month ago our fullbacks looked absolutely dreadful and there was no easy solution in sight. Kenny walks in, decides Johnson is as good a leftback as he is rightback, tells him to be good again and decides that Kelly is obviously a firstteamer. E voila, fullback is sorted.
