  1. Was that a Liverpool fan that come on the pitch?!
  2. I didn't know that actually. As I said, no hope whatsoever they will get removed unless some nut job whacks them.
  3. When was the last time Rafa let anything of the sort thats what being proposed happen? Regardless of the importance of games?
  4. However on the other hand you could say they are gearing up to take control for the long haul. I honestly feel that we won't get rid of them, they'll leave on their terms. I have no hope whatsoever, that we will make them leave. That being said, I think football is f***ed personally. Roman Abramovich could pull the plug on Chelsea when ever he wanted, United are financing debt (Does anyone think Baconface would have spent that 80 Million if he could) and then you've got our debt.
  5. I don't honestly know, Rafa doesn't strike me to be the sort of person to allow such deals to happen. I mean look what happened when Alonso became a father!
  6. He was a far better player than what people gave him credit for, too bad he was injury prone and hardly got the chance to show it. We could still do with him now IMO.
  7. Nah they all live on County Road

  11. Good post that
  12. The fact we still have Voronin and United have Owen is depressing on it's own, and if rumours are to be believed and Owen REALLY wanted to come back to Liverpool rather than go to the Mancs, then that itself is criminal IMO.
  13. But they haven't, and why is that?
  14. You can say the exact same thing about man marking though?
  15. You can argue the pros and cons about Zonal and Man marking for days on end, if either are played to their strengths they can be a valuable asset to any side. To dismiss man marking out of hand would be discrediting the teams of the past which have utilised the system to the best of their players abilities.
  16. So having Torres back defending the cross will drastically decrease the chances of us conceding? If what you say happens, he'll only be kicked before he made a clear breakthrough anyway. I'd much rather have him be kicked in the centre circle after a hoof from Carra or somewhat as opposed to in the box in the middle of a break. As has been mentioned the more players you have forward the less that are going to be in the box, and the easier it is to both defend and have Pepe clear the ball. The amount of times Pepe has been caught out, simply because he couldn't see the ball thanks to the box being overcrowded is concerning. It's little risks like having a striker in the centre circle when defending a corner that will enable us to win games. IMO Zonal Marking has to fit the players, each player must know their zone and if that player is not there, their replacement must know their position. If we can do that and keep a striker nearer the centre circle when defending a corner, I think we would have found the right balance.
  17. He's just f***ing s***
  18. How come? I don't think it's that far fetched
  19. He also happens to be one of the most fastest players in the squad, Owen was small but was still one of the best headers of the ball going so height isn't all that (ala Crouch as well). Insua is a defender, it's his job to defend, and yes I'd much rather have Insua defending a corner over Torres, because at least if we hit the ball up Torres can chase the ball and we all move out and forward. As has been mentioned, the more players you have forward, the less the opposition are to commit into the box, so the risk is reduced somewhat.
  20. I don't see why Fernando Torres has to be back defending a corner.
  21. Whether it be man marking or zonal marking the simple fact of the matter is is that if it works for you, it works for you. Our defence at it's best is a prime example of how zonal marking can work, although at it's worst it can show show if not implemented to good enough extent, it's full of holes. Just like today. I pay very little attention to either method, as long as the end justifies the means then it's alright with me. I also think this is spot on
  22. Our defending is just incredibly amateur. I can't get my head around it. Thats wrong, throwing another defender into the f***ing mix will only make it worse, we need some consistency and basic organisation skills, our biggest asset has seemingly just gone over the space of a few months and it's stupid.
  23. If I had to put up with watching the Gudjohnson miss every other advert I would eventually soil myself
