Yet another disappointing performance by Oba Martions on Sunday afternoon at home to Siena. Goals presented to him on a plate were missed and his technical performance was so embarrassing that he was booed by his own supporters.

 

His latest performances have been very worrying and this has irritated Mancini who has had a lot of faith in him this year, but this faith has not been repaid.

 

Martins, born in 1984, is a product of Inter Milan having come through their academy but his future at the club is now more than uncertain. Given his young age he may be subject to a lot of interest from other clubs and this is what is happening.

The Spanish striker, not utilised too much by Rafael Benitez this season, wants a new challenge and the opportunity to play in the Serie A interests him a lot. 'El Moro' is without a doubt a striker capable of scoring many goals as his career statistics with Real Madrid, Monaco and Liverpool prove.

 

From a purely technical viewpoint such a deal would not be an ideal one for Inter as Morientes is primarily an out and out striker and he would further crowd that area of Inter's squad. However Adriano's future at the club is still uncertain whilst Cruz is certain to remain at Inter for at least another season.

Altra ennesima brutta figura per Oba Martins domenica pomeriggio contro il Siena davanti al proprio pubblico. Gol già fatti sbagliati davanti alla porta e un'approsimazione tecnica imbarazzante che non gli hanno evitato i sonori fischi del pubblico di San Siro.

 

L'involuzione tecnica dell'attaccante nigeriano è proccupante e fa irritare non poco Mancini che quest'anno ha dato molta fiducia al giocatore senza esserne ripagato.

 

Martins, classe 1984, è certamente un patrimonio dell'Inter, essendo anche cresciuto nel vivaio della squadra nerazzurra, ma la sua posizione è ora più che mai in bilico. Proprio per la sua giovane età, infatti, può diventare oggetto di importanti trattative di mercato come quelle che arrivano dall'Inghilterra.

 

Le prime squadre a muoversi per lui sono state Tottenham e Newcastle con offerte vicino ai 10 milioni di euro.

 

Da Via Durini hanno fatto sapere di volere almeno 15 milioni o contropartite tecniche adeguate e ora si sta valutando anche la proposta clamorosa del Liverpool che ha offerto Fernando Morientes, più un conguaglio in denaro, per arrivare al nigeriano.

 

Il centravanti spagnolo, poco utilizzato in questa stagione da Rafa Benitez, intende cambiare aria e l'idea di giocare nel campionato italiano lo alletta parecchio. 'El Moro' senza dubbio è un centravanti in grado di fare molti gol come dicono i numeri della sua lunga carriera tra Real Madrid, Monaco e Liverpool.

 

Da un punto di vista strettamente tecnico si tratterebbe di uno scambio poco intelligente perchè lo spagnolo è una prima punta e andrebbe ad ingolfare il reparto ma resta ancora incerto il futuro di Adriano considerando che Cruz resterà certamente in nerazzurro anche la prossima stagione.

I think he has the potential to become class.

 

He's scored approx one goal every three games he's played, which is good considering his age and the fact that quite a few of those games has been as a substitute.

 

He reminds me a bit of Cissé (very fast, very direct, limited skill), but he's a better reader of the game (not as many offsides) and has much more grit.

Agree with that. seems fairly one-dimensional.

Martins plays a similar game to Adriano so gets fewer opportunities. He's not had a great season, but then none of Inter's forwards have. He is quick and strong, but I'm not convinced he would suit Rafa's style. He's no goal poacher that's for sure. Looks best when getting the ball about 35/40 yards out and taking people on.

Martins is still a bit of a rough diamond but he is young and still learning and im sure if Rafa could get his hands on him we will see a hell of a decent player in the not so distant future.
