Going out (shown as strikeout) (I think Rafa will be ruthless this time around):

1. Jerzy Dudek (too good to be on the bench)

2. Jan Kromkamp (seems unsettled, I also don't rate him)

3. Steve Finnan

4. Sami Hyypia

5. Daniel Agger

6. John Arne Riise

7. Harry Kewell

8. Steven Gerrard

9. Djibril Cisse (nowhere near the 14mil player we hoped for)

10. Luis Garcia

11. Robbie Fowler

14. Xabi Alonso

15. Peter Crouch

16. Dietmar Hamann

19. Fernando Morientes

20. Scott Carson

21. Djimi Traore (better off starting more games somewhere else as will be 3rd choice LB or CB)

22. Momo Sissoko

23. Jamie Carragher

25. Pepe Reina

26. Paul Anderson

28. Stephen Warnock (see Traore above)

30. Boudewijn Zenden

32. Besian Idrizaj

35. Danny Guthrie

36. Antonio Barragan

38. David Mannix

- Neil Mellor (Just not going to happen for Mellor at LFC, too good to be a ressie)

- Chris Kirkland (ditto)

- Florent Sinama Pongolle (Wants to go, deserves first team games)

- Anthony Le Tallec (Pity, but I think will be gone)

- Zak Whitbread (see Mellor)

- Miki Roque

- David Martin

- Lee Peltier

- Danny O'Donnell

- Paul Willis

- James Smith

- David Raven (see Mellor)

- Carl Medjani (ditto)

- Calum Woods

- Adam Hammill

- Ramon Calliste

- Jack Hobbs

- Godwin Antwi

- Darren Potter (see Mellor)

- Bruno Cheyrou (no comment)

- Robbie Foy (see Mellor)

- Salif Diao (no comment)

[ The likes of Hobbs, Anderson, Barragan etc will be given first team opportunities, but are not yet ready to provide proper cover, however many of the young lads are very exciting prospects and look the business. ]

Coming in:

LB (Paletta)

RB (???)

LW (Gonzales)

RW (???)

CF (???)

Hopefully rafa will get the customers with a 2 for 1 offer, maybe have a bargain bin?

Like Warnock and Mellor for Pennant?

Not that I want him...

Don't understand why people want Warnock out. It is a squad game and he is a good squad player.

Is right and he's showing signs of improvement, I really don't see Rafa getting rid.

Posted

aye, if Traore goes, Warnock is alright as a 3rd choice left back type thingy.

I wonder if we will be able to get rid of 15 players in one summer though :D Although many of those squad/reserve type players could be released, or would go on freebies or very very nominal fees I suspect. And some of them - well maybe their contracts are up anyway.

Neil Mellor is really struggling with his injury, he has a crack in his knee and is seriously worried about the future. :(

Because, for left back/left midfield we will have Aurelio, Riise, Kewell, Gonzalez and Zenden. Warnock will be behind all of them, plus he wants a move.

fecin ell, that lad has had no luck with injuries. Be such a shame if his career is in doubt :(

Very sorry to hear that - always had time for Mellor. Just watched the highlights from the Arsenal match last year: what a feeling that must have been for him. Let's hope he'll enjoy it again.

Well if fabio is coming he's good as gone

Have you even seen Fabio?

I'd rather keep Warnock. At least he knows which club he wants to play for...

Well, Aurelio has signed for Liverpool, Warnock is after a move. Whats your point?

Calm down, sweetheart. I haven't seen any quotes from Warnock about wanting to leave, nor any saying Aurelio has signed. And my point was I'd rather have promising home grown talent than some Brazilian no one has hardly seen play.

not too sure about kromkamp going?

morientes should be a gonner too... and come January I cant see zenden being too happy if Gonzalez arrives and performs well...

Maybe you have 'hardly seen him play', but I suspect a few have seen Aurelio play a plenty of times, he has after all played in Spain for the past 5+ seasons.

Warnock is beyond the promising home grown talent stage isn't he?

Of course not. Did you say the same thing about Carragher when he was his age?

I've seen enough in Warnock to know he can and will make the grade. But it doesn't help any player being in and out of the side every 4 or 5 weeks.

I've seen this Aurelio a few times myself, and I can't see him being a massive improvement on what we've already got.

Even without Aurelio, Warnock isn't going to be in this team every week. He simply isn't that good (sorry Dave ;) ).

And having the right accent doesn't make him a better player by default.

You don't know Elisha, but he KNOWS these things. If he says a player has signed/wants to leave then it's true and will have come from the player himself.

Warnock is 24 isn't he, bit too old to be deemed as promising ...

And no I didn't say the same about Carra, cos I wasn't one of the knobbys that slagged him off a few years ago. Carra has been a very good defender for many years.

I agree. I'll never forget having a long, long argument with a Manc a few years ago who insisted that Phil Neville was a far better player than Carra could ever be! :D:lol:

Bolo can also play CM or off the striker so he may come in handy and get a decent run, and he has premiership pedigree.

Krom? What can I say, if we get a RB and a RM he will probably not get much if a run. If he stays maybe I can be convinced.

There has been talk of Alves for a while for RB. Personally, if Kromkamp did go, I'd love it if we could get Micah Richards from City. Although he played last night at CB, he is an excellent RB, quick, strong, big and good on the ball and in the air, and he'd probably cost around the same as Alves.

ye but City lost 3-1

I guess he must be a better RB than CB. ;) then again we are talking about defending against Henry - the man who makes football defence's look like netballers.
