Was talking to a South African red in the pub yesterday and he was ranting about Luis how annoying and frustrating he was. I then asked him if he'd like to see him go if a bid of 7-8mill came in and his reply was a catagorical NO.

That's Luis. A Frustrating Little Genius, but OUR Frustrating Little Genius though.

Here's the full article with that quote in it, it's worth reading, pretty spot on really!

Goal lays ghost to rest

STEVEN Gerrard smiled and shook his head, writes Jonathan Northcroft. ?That?s Luis Garcia,? he said. ?He misses a couple of tap-ins and then he puts one in the top corner from 30 yards. I gave him a b******ing in the first half for not putting us further ahead, but that?s Luis. We don?t want to give him easy chances because he doesn?t score them. He only scores the impossible ones.?

Liverpool versus Chelsea in a cup semi-final and yet again the difference is a maddening little player from Catalonia. Garcia can be so feckless that his presence would never be tolerated in any of Jose Mourinho?s teams, but Rafael Benitez believes in magic. He has stuck by Garcia during a season in which his No 10 has been criticised, just as he has believed in the player since he took him as a youngster from Barcelona?s reserves and relaunched him at Tenerife.

Garcia can give the ball away, be careless in good positions, and try things everybody else can see are never going to come off. But he has spells to cast. One shake of his boot can dislodge stardust. ?Really, I would prefer to score every one of my chances and, of course, I missed the really easy one before but in the end it was important one of them went in,? Garcia shrugged. ?It was one of the best goals I?ve ever scored. This time I think it just went over the line!? He referred, of course, to his winner in last season?s Champions League semi-final that Mourinho brought up for the umpteenth time in the run-up to this match, calling it a ?ghost goal?. Garcia came back to haunt him with a strike so glorious not even an arch-complainer could pick a fault. ?It was over the line, just a bit,? Gerrard laughed. ?I?m sure I saw the net move.?

The fans who questioned Garcia?s worth earlier in the season now realise how important he can be. His inconsistency can annoy teammates too, but they know to put up with the swings, to enjoy the roundabouts. ?He?s a fantastic player. He?s very intelligent and he?s scored some important goals for this football club,? said Gerrard.

He added: ?We?ll be favourites in the final but we?ve got to make sure whoever we come up against we treat them like a Chelsea. I?m sure if we play like today I?ll get another winner?s medal. You hear Man United players say one trophy a season is the minimum acceptable and Liverpool is the same. We were the first team to win the FA Cup in Cardiff and it would be nice to be the last.?

Had the Luid debate in the queue for drinks at the Old Trafford Bowling Club (see just back from the match thread).

He was saying Luis drove him mad & hoped he wouldn't start.

I said (as I always do in these debates) that "play him because he ALWAYS scores BIG GOALS in BIG GAMES."

Thank you Luis!!

NB, Got home & booked the Cardiff hotel rooms for all the boys on Lateroom.com for Friday 12th May0there ain't much about be warned!

Or Chelsea

So apart from the winning goals against Leverkursen, Juventus and Chelsea, he does f*** all in the first half.

Oh, and Everton last year.
