Bailo Posted March 31, 2006 Posted March 31, 2006 Formation time!! ------------------Pepe-----------------Finnan----Carra----Hyypia-----Riise Garcia----Xabi-----Momo------Kewell ---------Fowler-------Moro------------ is my bet
Sir Tokyo Sexwale Posted April 1, 2006 Posted April 1, 2006 Reckon Moro & Robbie will start. Maybe even go with 3 strikers
Ombudsam Posted April 1, 2006 Posted April 1, 2006 Don't think it was a pen, think they were clutching at straws there, the WBA bloke was pulling Sissoko and trying to stop him jumping, and also, from a holitistic PoV, they hardly looked like scoring and would not have scored had it not hit Sissoko's hand, so a penalty would have been ridiculous, in much the same way the ball hitting Cisse's hand hindered his run rather than giving him an advantage. I'd have been screaming for it the other way round. I don't think he was interfered with that much and his hand was way above his head. Not too concerened though as we deserved the points and the scoreline
Gomez Posted April 1, 2006 Posted April 1, 2006 you've misrepresented him completely. How is that misrepresentation? That's what he said. The anchor pointed out that in all fairness we deserved the win, and he sort of agreed, but did call on the last bastion of a loser with the "when your a small team you don't get the decisions" argument. Personally, I thought both where nothing incidents and I'm just glad to see a game where there are no major errors by a ref. I'd have been screaming for it the other way round. But even so, never a penalty, Sissoko gained no advantage, and why was his arm on Sissoko's shoulder if he wasn't trying to pull him back. Judging by the way Sissoko landed, where the ball hit his hand probably wasn't even in the area anyway, but the foul on his made the decision unnecessary.

Buckland said that Robson could say all those things but it wouldn't tell the story of the game. He didn't just fly off about how WBA could and should have drawn Personally, I thought both where nothing incidents and I'm just glad to see a game where there are no major errors by a ref.You may have screamed for it, but you'd have been wrong. I'm not that arsed, it didn't exactly rob them. Their peformance did.
Kahnee Posted April 1, 2006 Posted April 1, 2006 Good first half, poor second but the game was in the bag by then. I thought that Crouch and Kewell had poor games - ineffective with the ball, poor decision making. Cisse had a good game and took his goal very well. Back 5 were solid and only had a few problems after Gera had come on. Sissoko played well. Xabi was excellent I had to laugh at Brian Marwood. Xabi hits a 60 yard pass on a sixpence for Cisse and Marwood is blaming the defence !?! Sometimes no one is to blame and it's just pure genius. Then Marwood again, this time criticising Reina for not catching the ball - even though a WBA player came in late and Reina fell in a heap on the floor. Had Reina caught the ball as Marwood wanted him to, he would probably have dropped it as he hit the floor, resulting in the ball going loose in the area. Some really bizarre comments yet again from Marwood. Loved his "I get the feeling Robbie is desperate to secure himself a new deal and become part of the club's future again" bit. and which part of all the gushing platitudes he uttered after he had signed gave you that idea Brian?

He's insightful, that Marwood Sounds like he and Nicholas were chatting in the pub in which Macca watched the game
