How did Houllier miss Nzogbia

It appears Nzogbia was a youngster at Le Havre at the same time ALT and FSP were being hyped as the nest big French starlets. I have been impressed with Nzogbia and he has already played 50 games for the barcodes. I wonder why GH never snagged the lad, especially with his freindship with their coach? Did we ever go for him or did he sneak under the radar.

I think there was a bit of hassle in the way they signed him, think they bent the rules a bit. He looks a good player though alright, lightning quick.

Yep - UEFA got involved and compensation and a warning was issued.

back in those days, the french U-21 were a fanstastic team ,thanks to FSP and loan tallec.

GH certainly watched that team on the television and not le havre.

Yes but our lads were loaned out to LeHavre for a year or two. Surely Alec Miller or one of the scouts would have noticed the lad.

same with Valencia and our Momo Sissoko.

Bit of a habit of it with french youngsters at that time. (Or rather French based youngsers I should say!)

Because Houllier is an idiot. And we had Diomede, World Cup winner.

but just think, if he had signed him, you'd have been at the head of the queue grumbling that he was signing more young French players to send out on loan rather than established first teamers :D
