Pressed redial for 2.5 hours this morning, non stop.

finally get through to be told its totally sold out, I can;t believe it. this is the first time ever ive not got tickets through the PTS.

shocked its sold out so early.

had my flights booked in advance and accomodation, absolutely gutted.

surely they could have more phones on the go, the number was engaged for 2.5 hours and i was literally dialling every 1.5 seconds.

can;t describe how gutted i am, out of all the games i go to each season, this is the one i look forward to the most.

don't know if its owrth flying over anyway and seeing if i can pick some up outside the ground, i f**kin hate touts and you can never tell if they're forged or not

still loads of PTS tickets left for Fulham ;)

amazingly the online sale page for PTS works a treat these days.

As Vish says - it really is worth getting all your mates cards linked up to it, as it saves a lot of time and annoyances! You still have to do that refresh screen thing for a bit - but nothing like 2 hours. Probably took about 15 mins this morning on the online sales.

if any system was designed to be unfair its this. someone might have been to anfield twice in his life for those games and yet be entitlled to a ticket ahead of those who spend their hard money flying over to 8-10 games a season.

PTS and general sale are completely different,no connection what so ever, never has been.

still doesnt make it right though. with the fan card system now in place, loyalty should be rewarded. if you've been to a load of league games you should have a better chance of getting one. no doubt there will be a load of first time daytrippers over from Ireland and Norway on derby day, while regular fans miss out. it seriously needs addressing

The PTS works well, if you get on early enough. I have been to every home game this season with the PTS. Its tough s*** if you cant get through. You should have sorted the online ages ago.

Do agree about the f***in day trippers ruinin it though, they only come over for the big games, get kop tickets and never sing a single song! they are wrecking the atmosphere in the kop. Horrible to see really, we all dream of a kop that f***ing sings, a kop that f***ing sings!!!!! (on more than just the european and big league games)

How will they be 'first time daytrippers' when they'll have had to attend wigan and the barcodes games?

because vast amounts of tickets go to supporters clubs and independant travel companies. the supporters clubs who then when they havent got enough people to take all the tickets sell them on to their mates, who in many cases support other teams.

Not from PTS tickets, I doubt - which is what this thread is about.....

I have no gripes with the PTS system, it has served me extremely well. and yes i hold my hands up, i should have got my sh*t together for the online system, but it is just because the phone lines have never let me down and i can discuss with the person on the phone my seating option for the kop and choose the best available spot. dont know if you can do that online?

but i am annoyed at the general sale system. if they apply first come, first served to PTS then why apply such a crazy system for general sale.

I mean, i am an OOT as you say, from dublin, but i travel from dublin to on average 8 home games a season, give or take a couple depending (can rarely get tickets to away game and if i do its in the home team area), if i lived in england i;d be to every home game.

HYpocritically, i actually agree about OOT's, i see them on every flight i get over, they come over and don't sing, cause they don;t know the words, spend half the match taking photo's and then come back merchandised up to their gonads.

I am not in that category, and thats why i resent these people getting preference over me, just because i haven't been to both the wigan and newcastle game, despite being at a hatful of others this season.

on the flip side.I understand people, scousers in particular who might resent me getting a ticket over them

I dunno, im just gutted as this was the last game i could attend this season and i'd paid for my flights and always love this fixture. Hence my feeling of an injustice being done

i'll still come over probably and watch the match by the ground.

which pub you reckon is best during the match. never been in the albert or sandon actually during a home game. just before and after

We've got season tickets but we've got 4 PTS tickets in various family members names that I have to apply for because I'm the only one with any savvy on a PC. I got 4 yesterday morning at 8.30. Then my sister in law phones up and says she told Himself she wants one! A bit late dear!

emailed the club just to ask what on what basis they chose wigan and newcastle and what about those of us who have attended newcastle and various other games but not wigan.

got a decent and very speedy response in fairness:

"Thank you for your email.

There is a huge demand for tickets to Cup games and those involving

Everton or Manchester United. For this reason, (and for Man U and

Everton to guard against away fans getting tickets) the Ticket Office

has to restrict the number of people eligible to buy and give priority

to supporters who have attended particular previous games.

Most games do not require previous attendance.

This is the fairest way the Ticket Office has decided that tickets can

be sold for these games. I'm sorry for any disappointment this causes

for you. This process has been in place for many years."

You're expecting LFC supporters clubs to have numerous spares left over for the derby?

Not actually sure what you're getting at wayne, in truth.

I've got a ticket for the derby, but i'm interested in what method you're suggesting is open to 'first timers' to obtain derby tickets.

You may be spot on and i might be wrong here, but the manner in which you've expressed your point is a bit confusing mate.
