Why is Phil Thompson's name never suggested as a Manager?

I thought Thommo did an excellent job when GH was sick. I am surprised his name has never been mentioned with any jobs being available. Maybe clubs think he is a one club man or maybe he prefers TV. Has he ever suggested he would like to go back to Football management.

I think his passion and enthusiasm would be ideal for the likes of a Leicester, Derby who are looking for a manager.
