This makes me sick!

Being a new mum with a 2 and a half month old baby girl, these kind of people make me furious! And they may only spend a minimum of 12 years in jail????

Horror story from the mirror

Totally agree Patsy, this kinda story would make any decent person sick, but having become a parent myself recently it strikes home even harder as you see how vunerable babies are.

I doubt they will make it out of jail, I hope not anyway...

its just unbelievable....that and the recent case were they kidnapped the 3 yr old girl and brought her to the hostel.

and yes reason does fly out the window when you consider what would be suitable retribution for these type of people.

in this months Mojo, pete townsend raises some interesting questions about paedophilia and i think his assertion that the boundaries are too muddied in this day and ageneeds some investigation..... clearly the above cases are the extremes...but is a 17yr old having sex with a 15 yr old a paedophile...an 18 yr old with a 14 yr old??

The father of a freind of mine (who was abused throughout her childhood) died in nick 6 months before his release date. That is how it should be.

I think that depends on a lot of factors. A case I was involved with the 18 year old preyed on vulnerable 14/15 year olds.

These people that done this are lower than animals, not human in fact.I just hope the baby can grow up and not remember or be affected by whats happened.I dont know what the chances of this are though.

but its those factors that blur the lines....what about non vulnerable sexually active 15 yr olds?

i mean how many of our rock stars have crossed those lines(young groupies in US),yet theyre not viewed as paedophiles

that was my first thoughts too. hopefully the physical dmage was minimal, so the poor wee lass can have a normal life when she is older, and will hopefully never have to know what happened to her.

the people responsible for this should not see the light od day again. it always seems worse when a woman is involved too. what the hell must be going through these peoples heads

the mother (god helps her) hasn't decided yet wether to tell the baby the truth when she grows older.

I guess at 3 months old the baby might not remember anything. It would be really hard to know what to do.

Telling the kid might f*** her up for life when otherwise she might be fine.

I guess she'll play it by ear. If the kid has nightmares and feels somethings up later in life then I guess telling her and getting her help then would be the right thing to do.

I still find it hard that the mother didn't think anything was wrong. Surely the baby would show signs that all was not well. Not blaiming her btw as this is simply a dreadful thing to happen to anyone.

Makes my skin crawl. People like this have to be put where they can never do it again. I'm no doctor but when they loose these people out how can we be sure that other people will not suffer?

It's hard to be ethical and rational under such provocation. Personally, despite the temptation, I wouldn't want to kill them. Putting on my logical head for the moment I would keep them inside for good - no parole - and study them under the most microscopic detail. Rotate psychologists, criminal behavioural experts, neurologists, - everything we should have already been doing all these years to find out what makes some people do this abominable thing - we may, just may actually learn something of some use whereby we may eventually be able to prevent it happening again one day.

This seems logical enough.

No matter how hard I try to comprehend why someone could do this, I just can't, and don't think I ever will.

Should your option not be taken, a slow, painful death is only minor retribution

Not a unique crime, unfortunately. These reports (not challenging the veracity here) appear from time to time... I can certainly remember the first time I came across one: I was in Form 6 and the other guys were discussing the practical absurdities. We were all revolted by what we had read but couldn't deal with it without lookingt at the surreal side of things.

Now, at 49 and a father, I would not trust myself in a room with these people. There would appear to be a reasonable consensus on this point so far.

And, as for Paul's comment - yes, I too find it harder to accept the involvement of women. They same is true for cases like Myra Hindley and the Wests... Wouldn't stop me using the bat though.

It would only take me 10 minutes to deal with scum like that but by f*** would they suffer in that 10 minutes.

Hanging is too good for lowlife like that.

As a father of 3 I feel no shame in stating that being slowly melted for a week then brought back from the brink, allowed to heal and then the whole process repeated over and over again for years on end would be too good for that pair of sick animals.
