thats the first time sinama has done anything of note since the olympiakos game, to say that he can be more dangerous than cisse is just stupid

I didn't say i didn't like him or anything....i don't think he was that bad today, just average...but this is what i think will happen...and i stand by that....

No for me Sinama has offered something good whenever he has come on as a sub....

u forgot the betis one away....

you forgot palace away

cisse was poor today. which is frustrating because he's been playing well recently

its almost certain that cisse will be sold in the summer, but, although i like sinama's attitude, he will never be more than an occasional super sub for liverpool

To be honest Cisse has had many games against opposition whre you expect him to have a field day and he hasn't. His control and reading of the line just isn't good enough at the moment.

I think he'll stay, but i dont see him ever being a regular starter under Rafa. Or Pongolle at the moment as he's still very inconsistent. Compare today with his performance v Bolton

I think he was outmuscled by bolton, to be fair....think he hasn't beveloped the cleverness that small-statured experienced strikers have (though he will as he gets more games under his belt).

all he did was miss a peno(which alot of our players do) and miscontrol a great ball by Xabi, part from that he was pretty good today, touch was good, linked play well

if you compare him to our other forward from that game, who played better?

because Crouch was s***, but its only 1 game, so it hardly makes a player s***

f***ing hell lads, djib cant do right for doing wrong

neither cisse or pongolle should be judged on the basis of one match. cisse has played better recently, so let's see if this is a blip. pongolle played well today; let's see if he can continue to produce this kind of form regularly.

don't overreact guys.

This thread is f***ing b******s. Every time he has a poor game (and i think he did alright tonight bar the pen and one bad touch. Certainly better than Crouchie tonight)he gets slted and we get the "Cisse's going" s****.

Pongo offers the same as Djib? f*** off. How many goals has Flo scored in his career? He's a good little player and i hope we keep him, but Djib is far more dangerous.

Anyway, felt sorry for Djib tonight, second half he caused them all sorts of problems, skinned their left back time and again and generally worked his b******s off (this is becoming a regular thing now). Alright, he missed the pen and showed his poor touch again when he should have scored but his workrate is getting better and he just hadone of those unlucky nights. Well played Djib, keep up the hard work and you may still get the chance to stay here.

well said.

i've never been totally convinced about cisse but i'm not gonna start dismissing him and promoting pongolle over him on the basis of this game. cisse is not henry but he ain't ronnie rosenthal either.

bit of perspective please.

No i think you like him as a player and fair play to you....but the fact is...

1) he has a poor first touch...

2) chooses the wrong options almost all the time....

Yes his first touch is poor. Don't know what you mean about choosing the wrong options a lot? Tonight he played alrigth and is getting slated for it. Thats harsh. He still has a future here if he can keep up the hard work and improve certain aspects of his game imo.

"We had to find solutions to the problems we had in the first half and we needed to use the wingers more. Sinama Pongolle did very well when he came on and he, Gerrard and Cisse caused Luton problems."

Quote from Rafa, seems he agreed that Cisse was influential second half too.

Don't think so...not at least from my perspective...i honestly thought he would be sold....knee jerk seems the catch phrase this season

Posted

Knee jerk of epic proportions.

On another day Cisse would have stuck two away and Sinama would have been anonymous.

Posted

I've been saying he'll go for a while now. Since his various outbursts in the press and not accepting being substituted when he was subbed his days have been numbered.

he may last the summer if we can't get anyone good in but there's little chance of him being here next season.

Its touch and go who is the better finisher out of him and Pongolle. If you add to that the fact that Pongolle will do as he's told and like it and the fact that Cisse is all Johnny big potatoes with very little end product then the writing is on the wall.

Not being knee jerk but he was s**** today and its not the first time.

So not to appear Knee jerk i'll discount todays game, but it hasn't changed my opinion.I don't think either are really good enough and i'd expect them to both move on sooner or later.
