I have been searching for news about Simao and went to a forum on SL-Benfica.com. It is a new thread on that forum were they are talking about Simao going for 15 mill Euro if I undertand it correct. We are also named as a possible new club for Simao.

 

There is also a link to a Portuguis paper/magazine called O'Jogo.

In todays edition (Saturday) there is an article about Simao, and as far as I could understand they are talking about him playing his last game for Benfica this weekend.

 

I may be wrong though, and I don't want to give some of us false hopes

To cut it short. Simao will be playing tomorrow the last game with Benfica as he is leaving the club. Destination? Doesn't say a thing about it. And that the asking price from Benfica is 20 million euros.

OK - I assume that was the article in O'Jogo. Can you please take a look at www.SL-Benfica.com. There is a newsarticle stating that we have agreed a fee of 15 mill Euro I think. By the way this is not the official Benfica-forum.

I've been reading O Jogo and the Benfica forum this morning and although I can see that most of them think that he's off to Liverpool, and they are really pissed off about it, I can't find any confirmation of that in O Jogo.

 

O Jogo says he's going, but it doesn't say where, and it says that Benfica were holding out for 20 million Euros, and that the final evaluation won't be too far away from that.

 

I can read Portuguese - if anyone has got a link that mentions us as his destination, I'd be very glad to have a look at it.

 

(Edit - I just read that other link and it does mention us, for 15 million. Only trouble is, it looks a bit like a Benfica version of KopTalk to me. I won't believe it till I read it on LFC.TV - and I'm not convinced that Santa Claus isn't real either.)

It looks signed and sealed from that, and it looks as if it's come from his agent. It says the details still need to be ironed out, but it will be for about 15 million Euros. It also reminds us that he was on the aeroplane last summer to come, but gives the main reason it fell through (and this is interesting) not as the price but because they didn't have any replacement in the pipeline, and it was the last day of the transfer window. Now they've got Lauren Robert and Manduca, they're sorted.

 

Sounds great - and looks plausible too, despite what I said about KopTalk above.

Not exactly - it says that the agreement was reached after a process coordinated by the agent Jorge Mendes, which is why I reckon it's come from him.

 

Normally you'd take an agent's version in an unofficial forum with a pinch of salt, and maybe we should continue to do so. But the fact that 80% of Benfica fans seem to be glumly accepting it as fact this morning makes me think there's more in it than just KrapTalk.
