A bad side made to look even worse by our team today. Our stifling of them in midfield was a joy to watch, Morientes and Kewell combining so well with Crouch, Gerrard and Garcia, with Alonso incredible passing and insight keeping Newcastle on the backfoot from the off.

We are seeing a very good Liverpool, will be interesting so say the least if Rafa continues to improve them.

Broken the 1926 clean sheet record too. Grats to the lads !!

I love how Souness has spent more money than Rafa since they have both been in charge of their respective clubs.

Rafa spending his money on building a team with class acts on and off the field like Xabi, Garcia, Reina, Crouchino and Momo.

Souness spending his money on individual 'stars' like Luque, Boumsong (arf), and Owen, just to try and please the pissed off fans, rather than try and build a squad. That £50 mill he's spent could have been spent a whole lot wiser. Yet the fans lap it up, going on about their 'star' players like it means something. Delussional.

who gave souness £35m to spend in the summer.  absolutely bizarre.

It's comical. I'd love to see their books.

They'll get a few quid back when Owen and Luque jump ship in the summer and Freddie might have to up the price of replica shirts. Aside from that, they look goosed. Given excepted, none of those players are worth more than a couple of million a piece and I don't have enough fingers to count the amount of players they need.

The sh*t is gonna hit the fan eventually. I expect they'll make another move for Fat Sam, but if they install Fathead Bruce as boss, we'll get laughs for another 6 months at least.

Emre, Parker, Luque, Owen...

With any other manager those four would be terrifying teams intead of looking like they've just turned up to play park football. I know they've had injury problems but jesus wept that was tactically inept.

We had injury problems but still ended the season as EC winners...

We were also made to look god awful by Southampton...

Not defending Newcastle here as they've been diabolical with a full team.

Titus Brambell's reception was one of the funniest things I've seen at a match for yonks.

They're not that bad, it's just that we're too good for these mere mortals. Not many teams would have coped with us today, least of all an average side like Newcastle.

Parker and Emre should be good signings and good business for them. Parker proving it already, not so Emre yet - but plenty of time.

Owen and Luque are luxury signings. WIth that £27 mill they could have bought a couple decent defenders which they desepratley need and the two strikres that they also desperatley need.
