Anybody used the Philips Hue Lightbulbs which you can remotely control to come on or off via your phone/tablet?

Thinking of getting them as a security device to have lights coming on and off at different times. We've had a few burglaries by ours recently, including next door neighbour last week.

 

Can you program each bulb/room to come on/off at different times? For example, living room light on between 6pm and 10pm, bedroom light on between 10pm and 11pm.

 

Any better/cheaper alternatives?

you can buy timers to plug your lamps into so you can set on/off times.

Like scoose said, get some timers.

 

We use these at home when we go away. I also use them to get the kettle started on weekday mornings.

This might sound liike the post of some deluded mad man, but I'm sure Mrs.Clown has some electric candles which she can set on timers. I am sure they didn't cost £200 each.
