Gah! my tv smells like it's burning!

First of all, is this serious!

the picture bzzed for a second or two and some 'smoke' came out of the back - smells plasticy

 

I'm sure something like this happened before - I remember the smell but the TV works ok and has worked since - altho it's now off and plugged out!

 

I'm hoping it's only dust getting frizzled rather than anything serious!

 

please help - I wanna watch spooks and ncis later!!!!
