Red Kent Posted August 16, 2009 Posted August 16, 2009 For those who dont hold much sway on a decent pre-season should watch the games again. Today was like another pre-season jobby. Pre-season is about match fitness and getting things right, it's about trying formations and different things, but it's also about building confidence. The pre-season matches have been dire, but what has stuck out for me is the attitude of the players, only once did they look more than half interested, I think that mind set has been carried on.
DarthVader Posted August 16, 2009 Posted August 16, 2009 Weren't you the one who said that your mummy saw David Villa in a hotel or something ?
carrafan Posted August 16, 2009 Posted August 16, 2009 (edited) I didnt see one player from our side not looking arsed today. We were always second to the second ball and couldnt cope up with their pushing from the front in the first half and ended up hoofing it everytime once they began dominating. Still, that doesnt amount to not being arsed, everyone wanted to win and we tried our best in the second half once we changed our tactics a bit. We did this a lot, last season too actually. Even in the middle of the season. I do think a lot of our squad lacked match sharpness and that could have something to do with pre season. Edited August 16, 2009 by carrafan

Leave it to the professionals who are being held back by the owners of the club. Direct your frustration there where it is warranted.
Hassony Posted August 16, 2009 Posted August 16, 2009 Villa had an excellent pre season where they beat some very good teams, good to see that worked well for them
