Exam marking...

It's that joyous time of the academic year. Over two terms I taught a class of 24 (well 20 as several never bothered turning up) out of 74 on the course.

 

I mark half the essays so I picked up my 34 (only 68 took the exam) and bring them home and what do I find?

 

Virtually every student has answered the question on Thatcherism. Thatcher over and over and over again.

 

One of the answers seems to have actually been written by Norman Tebbit. It's surprising that they were able to write at all as several of their body-parts are likely residing within Thatcher herself.

 

Two of the students have attributed actions to an ex-Prime Minister that happened after he died.

 

The quote "We're all Thatcherites now" has been attributed to almost everyone in New Labour at various points.

 

If any of these answers were actually from my students I'm going to kill myself.
