A revelation since his move to Newcastle. Great feet, can play anwhere in attacking midfield or even striker and pops in with amazing goals.

Ultimately, yet another of Newcastle's blunders.

Reflect.

who? 6.7m on xisco looks good value right now.

read yesterday that they have 15 players on 50k a week each. if that's true then they really could be the new leeds.

Rumours of no relegation clauses in their contracts either but I find that hard to believe even for Newcastle

The thought of relegation wouldn't have even been considered when they were signing these players. I wouldn't be surprised in the slightest that there are no relegation clauses in the contracts.

Why? Even Saturday Shearer was showing the wrong mentality, which is another reason he should have stayed on the telly.

They think themselves a big club and Shearer said (paraphrasing) that it will be tough next season to get out of the championship as other clubs would see them as a big scalp and will raise their game.

Alan, you have to accept that you are not a big club. Big clubs don't get relegated in this day and age - the days of the big clubs getting relegated ended with Denis Law's back heal. The structure at Newcastle is wrong from the bottom up and mortgaging the ground development of seasons of ticket sales left the club with no real revenue other than pies, shirt sales and sponsorship (another blunder). If this isn't accepted by the Geordie faithful and the club I can only see them dropping further.

Shearer's not the right man for the job.
