floyd the barber Posted January 26, 2009 Posted January 26, 2009 Gerrard and Torres reminding us all why they HAVE to be the first choice pair up front.. They link up brilliantly, not just for the oustanding goal but there were other instances throughout the game where they have an understanding similar to what gerrard had with owen. We cant mess around anymore with a different partner for torres, it has to be gerrard.. We need to go on a run like we did the 2nd half of last season....no coincidence this included the point where Rafa played them together.. -----------masch--alonso----------??------------------------------????----------------gerrard----------------------------torres--------------- Is the way to go for the rest of the season....who plays out wide? well that is our major problem....Im fairly happy with Riera(though still feel we need a step up)...Right hand side is the obvious issue, Rafa needs to get someone in...
bazz Posted January 26, 2009 Posted January 26, 2009 Kuyt needs a break, but Babel's head is just not there and it could be the end for him. Here's hoping he can contribute at the end of games when he comes on as a sub - but I can't see him being in the first 11. Personally I think Riera should be on the left, and I would prefer to give El Zhar a go on the right - at least he gives a different option, is lively, and is prepared to attack the ball and beat players. Then Kuyt comes back in refreshed.

We cant mess around anymore with a different partner for torres, it has to be gerrard..There was no need for a reminder. It was obvious last summer that we already had the ideal pairing up front. Quite why we had to mess around with it, spending £20m in the process, is still a mystery to me.
Chili Palmer Posted January 26, 2009 Posted January 26, 2009 Quite why we had to mess around with it, spending £20m in the process, is still a mystery to me. ask Rick Parry, he might have the answer.

Tones Posted January 26, 2009 Posted January 26, 2009 ask Rick Parry, he might have the answer. Surely there is no doubt that Rafa wanted Keane. Maybe he had Barry as a higher priority, but i have no doubt it was Rafa who asked for Keane to be signed.
floyd the barber Posted January 26, 2009 Author Posted January 26, 2009 call me crazy....but i think we should make a sneaky bid for tottenhams Tarratt.....i think the kid is gonna be a massive star..given the right development,he has unbelievable talent.

beejay Posted January 26, 2009 Posted January 26, 2009 what are you basing that on? HAHAHA - the guy had 15 mins at the end of the Spurs-ManU cup game and the commentators said that according to 'Arry he was the most talented player on their books. He then proceeded to play like a 10 year old losing possession every time, muscled off the ball, passing straight to the opposition in short he was dogsh*te, in fact it was a cameo of utter dogsh*teness. And that's what the poster was basing this must-buy on

Taraabt's attitude stinks apparently. He has that 'im better than you attitude' when playing for the reserves and doesnt play a team game. According to many spurs fans, he'd have played a lot more for the first team if he had sorted his attitude out.

Isnt quick though or too strong but his main problem seems to be attitude.
Tones Posted January 26, 2009 Posted January 26, 2009 Spurs fans i know reckon he is very talented, but a little too greedy and keeps getting caught n possesion trying to do too much, but i think that could be coached out of him. Seems to have a bad attitude aswell though. Been waiting to hear of him breaking into the first team for a few years now but it still hasnt really happened.
Jarg Armani Posted January 26, 2009 Posted January 26, 2009 if he's got any sense he'll stay away then! in terms of nurturing talent we're last.

If Xabi plays alongside Mascherano I would like to see Alonso getting forward a lot more supporting Gerrard and Torres. He doesn't need to sit as deep as he does with Mascherano there. We've drawn 5 out of last 8 games, we're stuttering at the moment, staying unbeaten is the one thing that we are clinging onto that says we can stay in this title race. Are wingers are just not good enough at the moment and they need to go up two gears. El Zhar could be a good shout for right wing, since he has been in the team, he has been solid but more importantly he has been positive in an attacking sense, more so than Kuyt.
floyd the barber Posted January 26, 2009 Author Posted January 26, 2009 Your Crazy! thanks..and im basing it more on times ive seen him from early last season and from word of mouth from spurs fans (who think the kid is genius, but has a bit of an attitude problem).....was friggin tremendous, theres something special about him....we should snap him up and fix his attitude.
