ok we are just over half way through the season .

 

we are top .

 

we have got to the position we are in without { mainly } our top goal scorer , who hopefully is now going to get a good run of games { which should improve our scoring power }

 

gerrard has not been in great form so far this season , odd's would say that he will have a good run of form before long .

 

normally by this stage in a season we are clinging onto the top team's coat tails , but yet produce an excellent second half of the season , if we can produce like we have done before in the second half of the season , then the others have got every reason to be extremely concerned , because chances are that we will go on to clinch the title .

 

no-one can change what has gone , only what is to be . if anyone , before the season had started , had offered us the chance to be top of the table right now , i would imagine 99 % of us would have said yeah , take it and go for the sprint to the line in the second have of the season .

 

 

if this league was easy , we would have won even more than what we have , it isnt . its about being ahead after the last match , we are in with as good a chance as any team in the top three .

 

again i say its time to take a step back and take a breath , things are in our own hands , make no mistake , this is a tough league and if we win it we can be incredibly proud , because its incredibly hard to win it . the end of the season is the only time to look back and see if or when we went wrong and how we can improve again . now is the time of concentration on what we have infront of us ........ our next game .

I'm not a nay sayer, but we have made it hard for ourselves, the fans know it, the players know it, Rafa knows it, and importantly Man U know it and it's spurring them on.

Technically we still have it in our own hands, but realistically its going to take a little luck and some mess ups from the other challengers for us to win it. We really need to start regularly scoring goals, this is the big weakness ( regardless of formation). If you look at the other challengers, they have many more players that can score goals than we do, we've been lucky that they've scored less goals than they normally do at this stage of the season
