Anyone else think we could have doen with Barry last night? (and not for the first time this season...). Few days after a really tough game, Mascherano looked tired, and we really didn't have any other options.

 

People on here argued during the summer that we had room for him as well as Alonso, I'm inclined to agree.

I'm inclined to just focus on who we do have and I'm more than happy with Babel and Riera to create the supply we need from the wings.

Sissoko would have been the ideal man for that second half. Masc Kuyt and Sissoko, the hardest working footballers in the world.

 

We don't have barry and Alonso should have played or at least come on early second half. Perhaps Lucas was doing what he was asked to do, or Rafa was happy with him who knows.

leaving out Masch for some supposedly bankable home games is a big picture to see but it's to with the other alternatives we have

 

put simply, how many times have teams come to Anfield, defended in depth and ground out turgid draws?

 

in those situations, Masch's energy isn't always enough, whereas the ping, ping of Xabi's passing, if he's on form can eventually wear down the opposition. Not even the killer passes. It's the fact that he constantly plays passes that threaten to assist an assist, if you follow

 

very hard to concentrate and defend against that all game

 

so maybe leaving out Masch if it means having Xabi, Gerrard, Babel, Riera all on the pitch is sometimes an option if we have to attack

Not all together pointless as it gives me a chance to dsay what a pair of c**** our owners are. A club of our size should be able to have have both Alonso and Barry and it's the two pennyless t***s fault we don't.
