Yeats Mate Posted September 2, 2008 Posted September 2, 2008 Should anyone have the time or inclination, I would request your support in the nomination for Phil Neal to receive an MBE. Not only a true LFC Legend, but a true football legend and I believe it only right that in the day of - every footballer who scores a hat-trick getting an Honour - that the most successful English player (trophies, consecutive appearances, etc) be honoured, even in the smallest way. I have submitted Nomination form and require letters of support, Here is a guide on how to do this - http://www.honours.gov.uk/~/media/assets/w...ions%20pdf.ashx You will need to send your letter to: Cabinet Office, Ceremonial Secretariat, 35 Great Smith Street, London. SW1P 3BQ. Thank you.
John am Rhein Posted September 2, 2008 Posted September 2, 2008 I've just bought his book 'Attack from the Back'.
Sion Posted September 2, 2008 Posted September 2, 2008 Will I have to pay a fee to hear what he has to say on this matter?
mally Posted September 2, 2008 Posted September 2, 2008 There is no empire. There should be no monarchy. He has already won all the honours he needs.
Mikael Akerfeldt Posted September 2, 2008 Posted September 2, 2008 There is no empire. There should be no monarchy. He has already won all the honours he needs.
Will Posted September 2, 2008 Posted September 2, 2008 I've just bought his book 'Attack from the Back'.Jeez that's quite old! Read it a few years back - it's your typical old school footy "auto"biography, but nowt much wrong with that!
Fagan Posted September 2, 2008 Posted September 2, 2008 (edited) There is no empire. There should be no monarchy. He has already won all the honours he needs. exactly. and even if one did believe in this 'honours' system its all a bit self indulgent in my opinion. to go petitioning for one for someone about 20yrs after is also a waste of time, surely there are better things to do, and loads of other players would deserve one if phil neal does. hes not exactly known for volunteering his time and effort for free so dont bother wasting your time on this. ( i stand to be corrected on this point, but im only going on what ive gathered on here over the years) as someone rightly said, hes won all he needs to win. id rather have his medals than the crown of england on my head, let alone a bloody MBE Edited September 2, 2008 by Fagan
John am Rhein Posted September 2, 2008 Posted September 2, 2008 Jeez that's quite old! Read it a few years back - it's your typical old school footy "auto"biography, but nowt much wrong with that! Got it from one of the 2nd hand dealers linked to amazon.co.uk 1 pence (!) plus delivery
