Charity Workers Door Knocking

is this the worst practice in the world?

turning up at your door begging you to open a direct debit with them for so much money a month

had one today, asking for £10 a month for breast cancer, fair enough, great cause, but they had no information or anything of them, just a t-shirt, charity I.D. tag and a DD form

I can't afford to give to all the charities that come knocking, especially ones with no real evidence of what's going on

Add to that i'm all too wary of scams and i have my own charities i support

am i a d****ead for saying no?

they certainly make you feel like it
