Charging 100 yards out of his goal to celebrate the 4th.

Funny moment I'd forgotten about.

They didnt seem to show what happened after all that on ITV!

They showed the Kop going mental, then next minute someone had a long shot on the Arsenal goal and the ref blew up?

Was a great moment to see. Aside from liverpool winning that moment was well worth getting up early for!

I love Pepe. He always goes f***ing nuts when we score, big games especially.

Straight after Adebayor scored, Skrtl and Mascher were lying face down on the ground, obviously gutted. Pepe went over to both of them and picked them up, giving them a gee up.

Twas great to see.

The Ref blew the whistle after he struck the ball so it would have counted

still think Riise has a big goal in him yet this season

And as for Pepe, wasn't his best game but after that celebration at the end who cares!

Shame............. Oh well we still had Torres and Hypia goals that were good

Yah I think as soon as Almunia got a hand to it and it went over the bar, the ref blew.

Would have definitely counted.

Maybe I am confusing it with Basketballs rules

I think that is a possible explanation.

Didn't see that. Good on him.

It's not a goal, I think.

I seem to remember a famous incident with Clive Thomas where he disallowed a scissor kick goal from the edge of the box.

You wouldn't have done

You had Adebayour filling your screen pointing at Walcott for so long I am surprised you even saw Gerrard's penalty

Thanks for clearing that up for me

Reina has had a few off-games recently. That does not change the fact he's the best keeper in the country but he was at fault for the goal.

No, he wasn't. The player that didn't track the run was at fault.

It always amazes me how it's a keepers fault if they don't pull off a world class, point blank save when the ball is smashed at them. If Reina was closer toward the near post, he'd have drilled it across.

I was made up to see Pepe getting mascherano and skrtl up off the deck. Ok Gerrard was clapping and shouting in the centre circle but Pepe was havin it large. It was only when I watched the highlights I noticed Adebeyours ridiculous reggae pointing dance, how smug he looked. Still he was probably revelling in the Carling Cup atmosphere.

Bull. He got his angles wrong and his positioning was certainly in question. He certainly should have saved it.

It was a shot from a few feet away that was hammered passed him so fast that you could barely see it. It's fine watching it on a replay slowed down, it's a bit different at full speed.

The defence are to blame, you can let a player smash a ball unchallenged, at full pelt just a few yards from goal. Simple as that.

Xabi (he stopped for a sec appealing the hand ball from flamini)and Skrtl were at fault for allowing diaby to run through like that, Pepe (being the world class keeper that he is) should have saved it though

'should' is the wrong word, in my opinion. Maybe he could have saved it, but when a ball is smashed at you that hard, from that close, I'm afraid 'should' anything goes outta the window.
